While reading this book I kept thinking, 'How was this woman able to look through my window and describe my suffering without me ever seeing her out there?' This book so accurately details what we Lyme victims have to live with day in and day out... never knowing when a new, horrible, bizarre symptom will strike and never knowing which "symptoms du jour" will be served up that day. It is written in a way that makes it easier to understand this complicated disease and allows for people to have a glimpse into our isolated world. I hope that it is comforting for the author to know that her book has helped me so much. I've been very sick for over 4 years (possibly infected 20 years ago)and this book helped me help my doctor pinpoint a diagnosis. This was the first book I read regarding Lyme and it has honestly changed my life. Thank you, thank you, a thousand times thank you! I'm dropping it off with my PCP, along with some other literature, so that he can become more educated to treat his other patients. I hope to some day get an update on the author's health and the health of her children.
