They charge a lot more for these, but they do earn it.First off, I get upset when a company starts doing what the guys in suits call "leveraging the brand." That means, "Take a brand name that has come to mean high quality over a period of decades, and slap it on a cheaply-made lesser product so we can make more money." It's like bait and switch - my Mom has Oneida from the '50s, but the stuff that's stamped Oneida now isn't nearly as good as hers. It's like they're counterfeiting their own brand! I'm just so tired of it.So some smart people bought the New York factory they closed down and rechristened it Sherrill Manufacturing, and started producing a very high-quality product called Liberty Tabletop.They have patterns in various price ranges, but all are made of top quality stainless steel in their New York factory. This Betsy Ross set is from their Lux line, which is their top of the range. The Lux line is made from the heaviest steel and the most care is taken in polishing and finishing.I wanted a simple pattern, and, well, this is as simple as it gets - no pattern! It's just a beautiful shiny curve. The utensils are the larger Continental size (as compared to the smaller American size) and they look and feel great. They have a good solid heft to them - if you want any heavier than this, you need dumbbells, not forks and knives! The sizes and weights of all their flatware are listed right on their website.I've had friends over twice since I got this set and received unsolicited compliments both times. It looks and feels just fabulous! It's not too fancy for an informal setting, and it's right at home for a more formal dinner.Every piece except the knives is discretely stamped on the back: "Sherrill 18/10 USA" The knife has "Sherrill USA" printed on the blade. The knife handle is 18/10 stainless, and the blade is a harder alloy. The handle is finished even better than my Mom's 1950s Oneida - the seam is polished and blended beautifully.My Mom's flatware was purchased by her Mom in the 1950s and it was made in this very factory. It still looks good. That was before said company offshored production and "leveraged the brand." It's been through dishwashers, hand washed, soaked in the sink, and used daily for 60-odd years and it still looks good. And it's not even the heavier steel that this is made of.So I figured this will likely be the last set of flatware I'll ever need to buy, and I bit the bullet and sprung for the top of the line. Now that I'm using it, I am extremely pleased with this purchase. The pictures don't really do it justice.I highly recommend this product!

Great set. Not totally what I wanted, but works well as replacement for set I had and can no longer get.Regular forks bigger than I like; also soup spoon a little bigger than I prefer, Overall the set works very well. We looked at a lot of sets before buying this one - satisfied.

I was looking for solid weight cutlery and was not disappointed. This Silverware set was not the cheapest, but it was worth every penny we paid. A+

We are very happy with this set. We wanted something that was simple yet looked nice enough for special occasions too.This set fills the bill on both criteria. The fact that they were made in the USA was also a bonus.

The best part of this silverware is that the forks have longer handles than the silverware that I had before. That makes it much easier handling!

We love this silverware. Extremely high quality and nice heavy weight with smooth sleek feel. So far after a month has been washing perfectly. Highly recommend!!
