In My Footsteps: A Cape Cod Travel Guide

Review of a not-your-routine travel guide
An excellent read, from the title to the last page! Not your typical travel guide, as Chris has meticulously researched museums, beaches and historic homes but then surprises us with a tale of Hallett's store in Yarmouth Port, both a museum and ice cream Shoppe since 1889. The progression from the west end of the Cape to Provincetown and back to Bourne gives the traveler a systematic route that one can follow with ease. I look forward to his NEXT book- on Cape restaurants no longer extant, complete with photos and time-honored recipes! He is a man of many talents, but one can easily see that writing is a TRUE passion!

The Real Deal
For me, this book is a coffee table book. It's too good to get buried on a shelf! This book is a must for anyone who has lived on, or dreams of visiting, Cape Cod. In an easy-to-read/easy-to-follow style, Setterlund strips away all the touristy commercialism that many may consider the characteristics of Cape Cod, and delivers up via text and photographs, the real "Cape," treasured by locals past and present.Whether you hope to visit the Cape in person or cozied up in an armchair, if you want the real deal, Setterlund's footsteps is definitely the way to go.

The Real Cape Cod
I am a native Cape Codder. This book is unlike any other travel guide I have seen. If you are interested in seeing the real Cape Cod, full of beauty and heritage, not just the commercialized tourist traps, then this book is exactly the guide you need. If you are from the Cape, or just have grown to know and love it over the years, this book will bring you even closer and may even include a couple tidbits you didn't know. Simply wonderful book.

Great Cape guide
I'll use this guide from now on when we go to the Cape. Some places I know very well. Many brand new

a disappointment
Disappointing photographs and mediocre writing make this somewhat unsatisfying. I will try to follow up on some of the suggestions for places to explore, however. Of course he missed some of my favorite spots, but that's to be expected in a book like this.

Beautiful photos! Worth the read
I gave this book to my wife as an early Christmas present. She grew up on the Cape, and was thrilled to see so many places she loved growing up, but also some she's never visited. We look forward to exploring the Cape using this book as our guide.

The photos are beautiful and it's a nice addition to a collection
The photos are beautiful and it's a nice addition to a collection, but I don't think it is a very useful guide. The Explorer's Guide is much better.
