Q: Will this mount work on an outdoor television and stand up to wind?

Yes it should. Everything is securely mounted.

Q: What is the weight limit of bracket for TV

No idea but they are reasonable strong. I would say you would be safe at 4-5 kg. We had a DVD player, sat box and video on it at one stage

Q: Are there instructions on how to mount this on top rather than bottom?

Yes..easy to mount, either way.

Q: Can i attach this directly to the wall if i don't have a tv mount?

I was only able to attach to the back of the tv mount. I can’t say if it will or will not work. I bought a few of these and they worked great attached to the tv mount.
