Functional, Reliable and Efficient
Great handheld detector for less than $40. It’s a no brainer. I can afford to put a quality metal detector at each of my entrances, that I can rely on every time. Operation is as simple as it should be, different modes and sensitivity are convenient and the battery life is outstanding. Will buy again, if needed.

Work well for scanning wood for nails
I am using it to scan wood before I run it through my planer. For me, it is picking up even small nails. The finish of the product is a bit flimsy and cheap plastic, but it is working well for what i am using it. This is a good handheld metal detector for the price.

Detects very small finish nails from my pneumatic finish nailer
I read several reviews about this metal detector. I'm using it to scan wood before I run it thru my 5hp 20" powermatic planer with spiral cutterhead. Some of the reviews said it wouldnt pick up small nails. I tested this on some of my woodwork where I knew where some of the very small finishing nails were. It detected them with no problem. I tested even more small nails and it detected them every time. It detected them from about 4-6 inches away. If you are looking for an afford handheld metal detector, I would highly recommend this one.

Too sensitive or not sensitive enough.
I ordered this because my dogs took a wireless meat thermometer out in my backyard and I couldn’t find it. I have a huge backyard. Anyway, I got this, hoping to find it. At it’s normal setting, it is way too sensitive. I’m between 5’3” and 5’4”and I can hold it above my shoulders and according to it, my entire yard is full of metal. It beeps constantly all the way across my yard. When I put it on the low sensitivity, it hardly beeps at all. When it does detect metal, it’s because it is touching it, but I put it on nails on my fence and, more than not, it did not detect them. Also, to use the low sensitivity mode, you have to hold the button down the entire time you use it. It’s you let go, it reverts to the normal mode. It comes with a holster so you can wear it on your belt but if you use it, it will not hold up long. It’s very cheaply made. It comes with the battery. It says it can also be charged, but it doesn’t include a charger and I don’t see where it says what kind I would use. I didn’t look super hard since it doesn’t work.

Meh at best and hard to work
My wand did work in vibrate mode but would pick up nonexistent metal in loud mode and the alarm would stay on until the battery was removed. I ended up returning the one I got and getting a different wand.

I use it to find Nails/Metal in logs. It does that. I do need to scan after cutting off an inch from the log. It is what I guess its penetration ability is on wood.

This unit works exceptionally well. I use this in my woodworking shop where I re-purpose lumber into furniture. This unit has paid for itself many times by finding small hidden nails and staples in the lumber, saving my painer blades at a hundred dollars a set.
