Living Loving and Learning

This is the first Leo Buscaglia book I ever read and it was by far, the best. The best thing is that back in the day, I had already watched Leo’s videos (of the VHS type, no YouTube back that far), so as I read the book, I could hear Leo reading the book to me with all of his inflection, it was amazing! There were so many things I learned about life and myself in this book that I have never forgotten and have formed my life. My copy was loaned out so many times, it was finally lost and I hope it lives on today. I just purchased this again to share with my niece who is celebrating 2 years sobriety. It’s about time she reads it. I wish I would have shared it sooner and I hope she finds it as insightful and life changing as I did. It would be a great graduation gift for a young adult. Watch a YouTube of Leo, but buy this book and read it. You won’t regret it.

I picked this book up years ago by chance at my apartments community center book exchange. It changed my life. I still gift it to this day to good friends. I still go back and read it from time to time. Just reading this makes you feel like you know Leo and makes you want to be a better person. He was a wonderful soul.

never gets old only gets more significant a must read

I have read the book years ago. I have a signed copy of Leo Buscaglia's hard back copy. I went to a seminar to listen to him and many of us got to meet him. It was fabulous. He was amazing human being and very inspiring.

I remember reading this book after watching Dr. Buscaglia's lectures on PBS back in the 1970s. I cannot imagine what kind of a person I would have become had I not discovered the Love Doctor back then. This book hits universal accords with all of humanity. It's basic, primal, necessary, and essential to wellness. Get it. Read it. Hug someone. What I find interesting in this book is that perhaps unconsciously I incorporated many of these ideas from decades ago into my life. Another interesting reflection is that some of what Leo Buscaglia promoted in his book and teaching from the 1980s would now be considered politically incorrect or even inappropriate given his "direct" approach. Perhaps that would indicate that society has shifted into an unhealthy state of feeling victimized or harmed by simple reality instead of looking at life for what it is and dealing with it.

I wish I would have got the chance to meet Leo Buscalgia in person! He writes in such an easy to understand way and a way that draws you in. Has you laughing and thinking at the same time about words that he says from his heart. You can feel his genuine, caring spirit come through his words as you read. Wonderful words of wisdom that won't grow old!
