Fit By Nature: The Adventx Twelve-Week Outdoor Fitness Program

The book I've been looking for!
As a 63-year-old retired teacheri n relatively good shape, this is exactly the book I've been looking for. I read nearly the whole thing in one sit, and have been prepping to put the first 12 week training program into practice. I can't wait! It seems so doable and varied and not boring at all. I've always liked to be outside, but needed to have guidance on strength and stretching routines that are manageable for every day. This book has this. I was feeling the need to hire a personal trainer, but with this book I feel confident I can do it on my own. Highly recommend!

Fabulous book
This author is leading our course to prepare for the Camino Santiago. He is beyond knowledgable. Sensible, excellent information and laid out in a reasonable way. Daily dozen are perfect!

Readily available and budget friendly
As an older competitive powerlifter, I am often asked for advice from people who want to get in shape, or get back into shape. These are people with many good excuses, demanding work and child care schedules, or lots of travel. Getting back in shape after pregnancy is another fitness challenge. I spend thousands a year on professional coaching and many hours in a basement gym with no shower. This book offers an alternative that is doable even with the kids along (maybe even better with the kids along.) Although this is an outdoor program, it has adaptations for bad weather, and hotel stays. Calisthenics were a dirty word when I had Jr. High P.E. In this book they get polished up and packaged in the daily dozen that actually that can be done in 12 minutes and hopefully will be addictive! In this book you have a coach at your fingertips. The workouts are planned out for you with great variety so you won't get bored. The book has its spiritual side as well, helping us to get out of our incessant thinking and into experiencing our breath, body and place in nature.

Exactly As Advertised
If you are looking for a training routine to change your life, this probably isn't it. If you are looking for something to enhance your current routine or some common sense advice on how to train out in nature, this book is exactly what you are looking for. Nothing ground breaking here (pun intended), but it's good. I read a lot of fitness books every year and most of them are either donated away or resold on Amazon. A few are keepers that I know I'll refer back to. I have three main shelves for my keepers. Top shelf is for those books that I'd risk my life to save if there were a fire. 2nd shelf contains books that aren't to that level, but too valuable to me to even loan out. The third shelf is for those books that I definitely want to keep, but might be willing to loan out to a close friend. This book earned it's place on shelf 3.

I love this Book! I'm biased, but with cause.
I love this book! It is beautiful, well organized and easy to use.I am also a personal fried of the author and many of the models and am part of the Adventx program in Seattle. Everyone I know who is pictured in the book or has been involved in its creation lives the benefits that this book has to offer. It is not a theoretical, but a practical program that has allowed all involved with Adventx to set and reach fitness goals we never imagined were possible, from marathons to triathlons to climbing mountains around the world.Whatever your current fitness level and whatever your fitness goals, you can benefit from what this book has to offer

Love the Fit by Nature program!
I can't highly recommend this book enough! We are just starting week 5 of the program and are loving it so far. We've made some great strides in fitness, and while the Daily Dozen never gets easier, we are able to better do the exercises and can do more of them than we could just one month ago! I can't wait to finish the program, and am already planning on continuing some of the workouts after I finish the 12 weeks. Great all body workout!

Escape from the Gym!!
Get outside and exercise! Starting with the "Daily Dozen," a series of 12 simple calisthenics that takes only 12 minutes per day to do, this book contains a wealth of instruction on getting fit with, and for, outdoor activities. I read it and followed some of these plans to prepare to climb 14,505' Mt. Whitney. (Yes! I reached the summit! Thanks, Fit By Nature!!)
