Amazing Dry Bag and/or Backpack in the perfect small size!
Fantastic bag that will fulfill a multitude of uses. I've already used it, and I'll get to that in a minute, but here's what it is in a nutshell: very solidly built dry bag that you can wear as backpack if you want. A dry bag is a waterproof bag, and as such it should float in the water (when properly sealed and secured). This does that superbly. Having said that, it isn't the most comfortable backpack around--there are others that are more comfortable, and some of them are also made by Aqua-Quest. But this is the smallest legitimate dry bag in backpack form that I have found and it rocks!I wanted to do the following this summer of 2012 in MN: Run 5+ miles to a lake, swim across it, and then run back (and other permutations of this idea, like wilderness running and adventure racing). Thus, I was looking for smaller sized bag. I was specifically looking for a bag that I could put onto my back nearly empty, and then put my shoes and electronics (phone, headphones, etc) into and have a dry pair of socks already in there so that when I swam across and came out on the other side I could put on dry socks and not drenched running shoes again. On top of that, I wanted something that would also serve as a floatation device for added safety.N.B. I can in no way endorse you doing this same activity nor trusting anything to keep you afloat in an emergency that isn't a Type III or better PFD, so be aware. There, I said it, let's continue the awesomeness.I have "tested" it by putting my Droid RAZR, sunscreen, wallet, car keys, dry t-shirt, flashlight, Magellan eXplorist 400, and dry Sea to Summit Tek Towel (the large size) into the bag and sealing it. Then, I went a 6 mile canoe trip, dropping it into the water several times and it stayed secure and dry inside, and floated. Then, when finshed, I took off my life jacket and took the dry bag and swam to the middle of a mid-sized lake and it served admirably as a Type IV (Throwable Device) PFD while I swam and treaded water for the next 40 mins. I held onto the bag with the side carry handle, wore it like a backpack both on my back and front while in the water, but found it most comfortable just hugging it tighly and floating on it (I weigh 160 lbs.), like you might to a boat seat cushion or thrown life preserver ring. I was very comfortable also resting my head on it and performing the side stroke. Then I swam back into the shore and got out and took off my drenched technical t-shirt and took the cotton one out of the dry bag and put it on and then took out the towel and used it to dry off. All of my electronics were perfectly fine.Note: it isn't the easiest thing for quick access to your gear--but that's how it is able to maintain a waterproof seal. The smaller size makes accessing the bottom of the bag easier than on a larger model, especially when filled, I would imagine.Note: when you open a bag that has been floating vigorously in water for 40 mins, you may have some water drops find their way inside even when you are careful. Also, don't plan on trying to open it if you are in the water with it--hands off! You'll compromise its seal and might even fill it with water! You must only ever access what's within it from inside your boat or on land.Definitely fit the bill for what I was looking for exactly! You aren't looking for a Dry Bag/Backpack that is totally waterproof you say, but instead want a larger, more comfortable water-resistant backpack? Then, you may want to look elsewhere. But, this thing is solidly built and might be the best purchase of my summer. We'll see how it stands up to both intense UV and also getting trashed by wilderness running later this year. I also plan to take it snowshoeing over the winter since it will obviously keep everything completely dry.Why I bought this? I was specifically looking for something small and light but large enough for my shoes and and electronics and totally waterproof and able to handle my adventure racing scenario outlined above. 10 Liters was/is the perfect size for what I wanted. Anything bigger and it would only weigh more and be more unwieldy. This is a perfect Waterproof Dry Bag, that also has good carrying options with the dedicated side carrying handle, the "handle" created by the closure, with those sweet lash point-able D rings (seriously awesome for making this bag even more versatile). You can even wear this thing over your life jacket while you portage your canoe! I would've liked some option to attach the shoulder straps to each other across your chest, but it isn't something I cannot do simply with a 6-inch piece of velcro.Check back for my updates later this year. Thanks!--JWP.S. I even love the green color of the 10L model!(...)

Excellent Two Wheel & ASA Sailing backpack. Make the 30L the same Green & Grey as New Balance Ionix 3090 shoes, Please!
UPDATE: This remains a 5 star product after multiple well used trips !!!!!I seem to have understood the design better in my headline than my previously randomized comments. So after reading the feedback of many others, this is what i have to say. TuFF! ~ I apologize and clearly "Gear Out Here" is the best Vendor to buy this product from, as they pro-actively read and learn from your feedback and coddle those who did not read my review. Because i had a lot of concern about how the straps are attachment when i opened it also i will likely buy from them too, and thankful after half a year this life that Would Chuck stuff about the deck, we have never had an issue. ~ From the the previous two weeks long review, I recently received a helpful vote and started looking through the other Amazons reviews of this product. *Obviously many reviewers have, Very Little Hiking Experience.* What they want should at a bargain be ABOUT $60 or more for a rigid frame to be part of the design = offload material stress onto a frame. Now, having used this Waterproof computer backpack multiple times even as a daily commuter to school and to the docks and on the boat. It is worth every dollar i paid. 20 liters is good for two days of normal cloths for someone who is land lubber prepared. Experienced adventurer not carrying denim whom buys those hiking shorts that roll into the side pocket, they might get 4 days of stuff into it. But i carry just a bit more for "in Case of Dinosaur" concerns, so two nights and one extra(s) is the expected load. This backpack is very generous in size, yet that disappears quickly when you roll it down according to waterproof directions! And i do, because i bought it for the river, ocean, and maybe in case my "Priority Bicycle" or Kymco Scooter takes a shortcut into a lake, you know "in Case of Dinosaurs". Because most days rain would be stopped by one fold. But i do take this to school on single day trips because even though it is a little larger for two books and a notepad paper etc, the BAG IS A FANTASTIC SAFETY YELLOW !! The 10Ton Dump Trucks that crush both School and Public bus'ses on the TV seem to notice it on my scooting and allow me plenty of space. Dear reader that is "love" for this product from strangers. So for the bicyclist who said gosh these straps are big and much larger than they expected for a one day trip. I completely agree. You are correct. The smaller ones are so much more practical for something you do every day, and don't need a "Flashlight etc for Dinosaurs", but this brilliant yellow color might.... save your life.So to recap. This product is a 2 day commuter waterproofed largish duffle, that is /has/ backpack straps. AND NOT A HIKING backpack. YOU WANT AN EXTERNAL FRAME FOR THAT, especially with water involved, because Iron and Aluminum both oxidize, so the fabric or the frame will wear out are a different pace. For those who need internal frames, then something made of "nylon" with a fish cartilage like internal designs. Again, this would be $50 to >$100 depending on the development costs and the volume of sales for a river proof canyon backpack. I know because all my backpacks for hiking were rain proof and started at $60 and thrifty as i be, never bought the $200+ dollar ones, but may have bought a $150+ one that after a decade is now missing.Summary: The straps reflect the idea in the title. "Mariner" from the house to the Scooter; Scooter to Harbor; then sitting on the boat in the cockpit so that you can work the rudder or wheel even when it rains, and deal with drunk friends who trip and might throw what they trip over out of the boat. = At no time did the term "Mariner" hike the canyons of Libya and Africa. But yeah it does say "Backpack". Just remember the backpacking is more about waterproofing and Marine'ing..... There are other sizes for your needs. I just like this Life Giving Yellow more than the smaller ones day trippers will need or want for comfort, and the larger crossing two states on a boat might, could want. I was very tempted for longer 3 day trips to just buy two of these. 30L-40L really is a classic duffle size for longer trips where you wash and dry cloths at sea.{At Sea: If anyone knows how to use salt water to wash your clothes or after washed with salt water, then what material will chaff your skins the least less, then please let me know !!!! I had a very sensitive penial chaff from walking a few miles of beach in salt water soaked shorts and had to walk in public with my hand in my pants hold the tip of my eel. Thank god no one call the police. Sorry by i literally am bleeding, and not masturbating, but i don't she and her husband or boyfriend knew that. Until then it is "Pack for in case of joining the Dinosaurs". Because clothes covered in Salt Water, will eat you alive. Poor penis. It was more than a month healing because my parents at birth stole away my foreskin protection. So thank you: Waterproof "MARINER" Backpack for not making me experience this again. And to hell with the methods to keep people from walking too far from their "Yahoody" tribes in religious books. Religions need to get out into the world of the Moor Traveled. }Original Review:So far not one complaint. I used it for a weekend trip. Had to store some of things outside of it. (such as Johnnie Walker, Black Label and Shower,Shave,Trim,Scent,Soap kit)(Okay honestly I wanted to order the largest one they make, but wanted this fantastic yellow. And too my surprise it and the underside of my scooter seat held the ocean going trip. In a perfect world this same color and material might be larger. But what I bought works very well. So maybe I should just buy two?)Make the 30L the same Green & Grey as new balance Ionix 3090 shoes, please!

Fit beautifully on my Honda Shadow.
Received just in time for a 700 km round trip camping weekend. Removed the two backpack straps and ran my Rok Straps through the carrying handle to strap it to the bike. This bag fit beautifully on the passenger seat of my Honda Shadow. The carrying handle was also great to actually carry it with too instead of having to carry it by where the buckles join at the top.I was able to pack my sleeping bag, air mattress, clothes, leather jacket, and a few other random things inside and fold it over a few times.I suggest using a small carabiner between the two D rings where it buckles up just in case it lets go on the road (although the buckles seem pretty sturdy). We were fortunate not to hit rain but did several dusty gravel roads and I left the dry bag outside the tent at our campsite and everything was fine. I have no doubt this would hold up well in the rain.***Update 08/08/2019 - We did Gaspe this past weekend (~1500 km round trip over 3 days) and hit rain two out of three days, with a torrential downpour at one point. The dry bag seemed to keep everything dry - there was a bit of dampness in the top but I'm chalking that up to everything outside the bag being wet when I opened it.

... tree planting in BC and it definitely was an amazing bag to have
I brought this to tree planting in BC and it definitely was an amazing bag to have. It kept everything completely dry. I was worried that the bag would be too small, but you can fit so much in the 20L bag. I had an extra pair of shoes, food, rain jacket, rain pants, sunscreen, bug spray, at least 2 sweaters, and a water bottle. The only thing was the straps at the shoulder starting coming undone 5 months after my purchase. Although within those 5 months, it was thrown onto trucks and hauled around like crazy. For the price, I don't mind paying 10$ to get more reinforcement to the straps. Overall so great !
