I watched early elementary kids mastering each and every one of those patterns in no time...
I never made one friendship bracelet myself. I never had an urge nor need. However when the fad hit the town every parent was heading for the craft store to get the floss and you could see that this thing was really hot by sheer lack of most of the floss colors on the store shelves. Some kids were sharing the patterns with each other, other source was the internet but the most valuable one for my bunch was this very product. I was delighted to see how the kids mastered so manypatterns while also reading quite complicated instructions and following the steps. This is kind of like a Rubik Cube for the young brain. It teaches you more then just this particular craft,it teaches you to solve a complexed problem that requires following multiple steps and you cantest your mastery level by simply looking at the end result.I really like this booklet because printed material is still better then online for the fact that you can access it without need to put even MORE screen time into the life of a little one and it also after all is a book..and there is never too much child/book contact if you ask me.Overall VERY HAPPY with the purchase. IT MAKES SMART KIDS EVEN SMARTER! Price, very friendly.

Nice illustrations
My granddaughter liked this book. She had so much fun making these bracelets. The book is colorful and explains how to make different patterns. I would purchase again.

Ok Instruction, Few Images
This has decent written instruction, but few graphics and even fewer product photos. Some might feel this lacking, but overall these patterns are not misleading or hard to complete once you perfect how to complete the knots themselves. For example, the first instruction is how to get your threads together for knotting. Should be simple after you do it the first few times, but the instruction is "Tie all strands together with an Overhand Knot." What is an overhand knot? NO EXPLANATION. Ok, there's an image... but I tie my threads "sideways" meaning one end in each hand ends to my left and right sides... her image is in the top to bottom orientation after completing the knot (twisting turning over the threads parts), but before the final synch. So it isn't overly hard, just takes time.I am a fiber artist and have made various crafts, but, even for me, this took a few looks before I completed this simple setup step which has to be repeated once more before you can even work the patterns of the bracelet. This may be simple for others, but my older children (8, 9 and 10 yo) won't be able to look at the diagram of the completed knot, turn their threads in the correct orientation and come out with anything resembling that single overhand knot without help. That said, I feel I should point out that this is the first over-under of traditional shoe tying which even the young ones (3, 4 and 7yo) can complete, so these are not hard to do, but lacking in turn by turn instruction.Overall, a GREAT BOOK. it has cool patterns and enough text and diagrams to get the idea, but not enough that you're walked thru each step. The patterns are based on a very few knots that you must actually learn, but produce stunning finished works.

Best Pattern book I've found yet for Friendship Bracelets!
I run a Middle & High School Library focused on Maker-space activities and confidence building. This year, I branched out and started learning how to make to Friendship bracelets to engage students in making something for their mothers (Mom's Day). I purchased three books and this one was FAR AND ABOVE the others. The beautiful colored pages with many samples, clear knotting instructions and efficient use of space on the pages made this book easy-to-understand and fun! I will be using this all the time during our bracelet-making sessions! Thanks for being clear, concise and offering so many ideas with color and pattern.
