V-Wheel with Plate and 6mm Belt-Buckle for 2020 Aluminum Profile 3D Printer Parts for CNC (Big V-Wheel with Belt-Buckle)

The buckle is key. Gives you a place to tie in your belt drive right where you can get to it. There are 3 of them used on this build. I used 3M 10mm belt, but they're made for 6mm belt. I E6000'd them together and slipped it into the buckle, clamping it while it set up. So far, 300hrs in, it's still holding just fine. Just need to make sure you have enough clearance for the extra belt. Had someone made a 10mm one, I'd have bought more.

They're very handy and a versatile way to add motion to your aluminum extrusion builds. Felt a couple of minor bumps along my two-meter travel, so not sure how these will hold up. But the price is right, and I suspect they're the same as some wheel assemblies selling for twice the price. No long-term experience yet. They come with bolts and a very useful tightening wrench. What they don't come with is instructions. So here goes: The assemblies should roll perpendicular to the two oblong slots on either side of the plate. Those slots are for tension belts that would pull the cart left or right. You'll see why this alignment is important in a moment. Two of the four black wheels are adjustable; you can move them closer or further to their opposing wheel, to tighten the wheels' grip onto the rail they'll roll on. The adjustable two wheels have hex nuts under the tires (the other two have just a round collar). Put the enclosed wrench around a hex, turn the assembly over and you'll see the flat-head bolt move closer and farther from its opposing wheel, in an off-center circle movement. That's how you tighten and loosen the grip. The whole range of motion minimum-to-maximum is just one turn, so adjust slowly. The wrench is thin so you can make adjustments while your cart is on the aluminum rail. Here's a tip: To permanently affix the rolling cart to an item (so the item can move), then drill out the threads on the rolling cart baseplate, making the hole just bigger than your bolt.. That way you put a bolt thru the cart and into to whatever you're affixing it to. Bolting the cart to a piece of rail gives you a sliding rail.

Fits 2020 rail very well. Would suggest if you need a gantry.

The unit immediately started to skip on the 2020 extrusion rail with divots formed in the plastic wheels. I had set the tension correctly but the slide operation is not smooth.

Hardware used by the manufacturer prevents a hotend from being installed.Needs to be tested by manufacturer for use on 3d printers.

So first impressions were good, fits well, holds a decent load.but walking away and coming back, flat spots develop on the rubber wheels. which after idle time and running your contraption, the flat spots will cause issues with your plot/print or whatever else, if you need high precision.going to have to replace the wheels or whole assembly with something else.

Excellent choice for the tinkerer. Runs as smooth as butter on my 2020 extruded rail. I say excellent for the tinkerer because you'll have to design some mounting mechanism that fits your needs. Either design and print the extruder / hotend mount or have a machine shop machine you a plate / mount. Although there are files for the 2020 conversion with Z axis mounts for the rail on Thingiverse, but not all fits my need. So off I go and design something for my particular need. The mount itself including the roller are excellent and absolutely smooth in operation. Excited to fit it to my machine!
