The Urantia Book - Indexed Version

An earlier reviewer referred to the text as "God given," and I agree. One feels gifted by God in the reading of this book, something I can still say after 30 years of its companionship. Many who are spiritually alive (or seeking to be so) will find their inner "truth resonators" vibrating soundly when they read this text, no matter which edition they read. A beautiful quality of this book is that no one needs to "tell" you if it is true or not. You will recognize its truth on a soul level, or not. There was a time when some considered this text "stolen" from the Foundation, but I pray such perceptions continue to heal and become reconciled. Commendably, the Foundation safeguarded the process of shepherding the contents into book form (publishing it in 1955). Much later, they sued for copyright, but lost. At the time of that lawsuit, some readers put alot on the line financially, in order to protect public access to the book and its contents. One such person is Kristin M., who was ultimately forced into bankruptcy by the court costs, losing her home, etc. (Her portrait hangs in tribute, in my inner gallery of spiritual heroes.) Many selfless acts were made then, because the privilege of access is just that important. Now (happily), the contents are available on line--for free!--in both print and audio versions, and in a growing number of languages.Anyone who brings "eyes to see" to the material recognizes that the book was given to all of humanity for the benefit of all of humanity. It's a text which has the potential to change lives, and even nations, if sincerely applied. Book distribution by both publishers is an act of service toward all seeking expanded truth. A unique aspect of these two publishers is that no one is looking to earn profit from making these books available. As non-profits, the publishers function with exceptionally low operating expenses. All proceeds are funneled back into making the book widely available--including meeting requests to translate the book into even more languages. This is the first time that the index and the text have appeared in one volume. This is a handy feature for quick look-up, such as when readers are gathered for a study session. Questions will invariably pop up then, and the index speeds the process of locating cross-references. [For in-depth personal investigation, I do tend to rely on the separate and larger "Concordex," as well as a reference called the "Paramony," which correlates Bible verses to book contents.] To those whose labors of love produced the many types of indexes available, including the one in this edition, I publicly offer my thanks! Over-all, this particular edition feels more user friendly to me than past editions, due to its index, as well as its trimmer size and lighter weight.Of course, the particular edition utilized is not nearly as important as the contents, which are the same in all editions. As a general resource, this text uplifts the paths of religionists from many perspectives. Its contents are not designed to promote or start a new religion, but rather are intended to support one's search for a life of transcendent meaning (including a personal connection to our Creator). No matter which edition is preferred, this profound book needs to be discovered (and likely will be) by those who are hungry for spiritual liberation.

Changed my life for the better
A couple of thoughts up front: If you have made up your mind that there is no such thing as God then so be it. If you are open to maybe changing your mind, then consider this. The Urantia Book has been around for 65 years and has been republished in 25 languages. It is a perspective changer if you are seeking an understanding of the universe and your place in it. It is beautifully written in post graduate English and there are plenty of study groups online and in most cities for people who enjoy discussing and understanding the more complex sections. No Urantia churches, no proselytizing. Find out why your life really means something.

In Revelations you have to stop and think a little bit but it's there if you put the pieces together like why would the Trinity
First this is a long book, over 2000 pages but we'll worth the reading!! Second it's a very religious book, but is considered heresy by almost all ministers in all Christian churches. The heresy part is who the book says Jesus really is and His conception and birth. The Urantia ( this is the name for earth in this universe ) book says that Jesus is a creator son and not the Trinity Son! A creator son is a son created by the Father and the Son together to be the creator of this universe and its life forms. Jesus real name is Michael and this is backed up in Danial and Revelations. In Revelations you have to stop and think a little bit but it's there if you put the pieces together like why would the Trinity son come down to earth to defeat satan when Michael has defeated him in all the heavens and cast him down to earth as his last stand. Getting back to Michael as a creator Son. Our universe is 13.7 billion years old by the latest estimates, how many universes has our Father created in the past billions? Trillions who knows? And with millions of habital planets in each why would the Trinity Son come to ours to defeat someone who has already been defeated in the universe. This book makes sense to me plus there is so much more to it than I've said. It also contains all of Jesus life here on earth! Read the reviews on it first. The last time I checked it had a 4.5 out of 5 rating or 9 out 10 people really liked it including some Biblical scholars. Should you opt for a Urantia book I like the Urantia foundation version ( with the tree on the cover ) it has the words of Jesus in red just like the Bible.Urantia also points out errors in the Bible in that things didn't happen the way the Bible said they did, and Urantias makes more sense because their version is plausible. If you download a sample, which I recommend, don't read the forward it will only confuse you to the point of not wanting to read to read this great book!! If I remember correctly even the sample is quite long and starts with the Father Son and Holy Spirit which is truly wonderful!! Oh I forgot to add something when writing about the probability of trillions of universes, doesn't it make sense to you too that God would put someone in charge of each one! But please read other comments, I'm sure they are far more eloquent than mine but my prayer is that I may have been of some help! I also pray that everyone will read it, its changed me for the better God Bless

A Hard Book To Understand - Yet Fascinating.
I brought this book after it caught my eye as a recommendation on my Amazon account, following a purchase of a Bible. I was intrigued by its claim to hold much information about the universes, history of our planets and solar system, and even of untold information about the life of Jesus, including details of his young childhood and teenage years. This book is huge: 2096 pages, or thereabouts, divided into 196 “papers” and a foreword. I made the mistake of trying to tackle the foreword first. Wow, this book is written in such a way as to bombard me with obfuscation to say the least. I am sure it coud have been written and presented a lot more better, or at least put into simpler language. My suggestion to those who do not hold a Ph.D in philosophy, or who are not a Ph.D student; skip the foreword for now. My brain was left oozing out of my left ear after reading it.I am currently at Paper 15 - The Seven Superuniverses - and so far it’s a fascinating read, with some difficult to understand information, but not nearly as so as the foreword. I have, however, noticed some inaccuracies in the scientific information given. Seeing that this book was apparently authored by divine beings with an intelligence and understanding of the universe that greatly exceeds ours, I am surprised that they made such errors. However, I am “assured” by some Urantia Book readers that these are not errors, but simply reflecting the understanding man had at the time the book was published, as the “authors” did not want to give us any hitherto unrevealed information. Hmmm, okay.Whether you believe it is information supplied by divine beings, or you see it as the philosophic musings of a man, the Urantia Book is a vary interesting read indeed. One last piece of advice - read this book slowly, and when you have no distractions about you. Oh, and have a good dictionary by your side; you’re going to need it.This e-version is of good visual quality, with each Paper divided into sections, with paragraph/reference numbering. Links also work, helping you to navigate fairly easily through tht eenitre book. Reads well on iPad app and paperwhite Kindle. Highlighting also allowed.

A new bible for the Aquarian Age.
This is the most important book I have ever read. It answered all my questions, which religion never did. From the immense organization of the 4th-7th spheres, formation of our planet (Urantia), origin of man, the Lucifer rebellion, Adam & Eve, embodiment of Archangel Michael as Christ Jesus, and so much more, this is a book every human being on the planet should read. It is a truly precious gift to mankind from great beings in the 6 other super universes.Janice Robertson.
