You could probably use it for fabric if you can cut your strips thin enough and the fabric isn't thick.

Making 2inch long beads, can this work?

No the tools are used for paper quilling and the slots are short, you will have to search for maybe a custom made one for that length or make your own from cotter pins or wooden dowels. Look for paper bead info online.

How should I use the curling coach?

A: Hi, it needs to be used together with the slotted pens, you need to put the pens into the hole of the curling coach to make a larger size roll

Why the bones and tools made of cheap plastic?

Even though they are all made of plastic they work just fine and are not fragile. You can't expect the tools to made of real bone and be able to pay a low price for them. All of these tools are excellent to use for paper quilling.
