The Sky Weaver: Iskari Book Three

The death dancer and the Princess
Third and final volume in young adult fantasy trilogy 'The Last Namsara'. First volume was 'The Last Namsara'. The second and third books didn't really follow on from that and are more other stories in the same world. But I would recommend starting with the first one to get the most from the series. It's best for readers aged fifteen and up. Adult moments and some violence. This runs for three hundred and ninety one pages and has fifty two chapters. There are occasional interludes between chapters which tell a story of legend from this world. The pages are in grey rather than white background. These need to be read.We have two main characters, both ladies, and the viewpoint will jump between them.Eris: Pirate. Thief. Known as the Death Dancer. Has a very special ability.Safire: Soldier. Loyal guard to the King of Firgaard. She takes her job seriously.Fate brings them together. Safire is determined to catch Eris. But they both end up with a common goal. And get caught up in someone else's deadly plans....A terrific five star read. Although the print looks a bit small at first glance I didn't have any problems with it. And pages turned rapidly. Because this is a real page turner. The world building is as great as in the previous two books. With a unique setting that's really original and does come superbly to life. But the meat of this is the two lead characters.I like good character focused stories, and this so delivers in that respect. They are both amazingly three dimensional creations who you can sympathise with. And their chemistry together through the unfolding narrative is amazing also. Everything just clicks. And keeps you reading. a great relationship should be earned. This one certainly is.The plot is decent and unfolds nicely. It does perhaps feel as if it rushes some things a little in the final quarter. But I think that's only a minor complaint. As by then I could see it had known where it was going all along. The ending is a memorable one. Both for the book and the series as a whole.Really great read. Well worth five stars.

Brilliant finale!
Great for fans of EMBER IN THE ASHES, the GRACELING series, and THE QUEEN'S THIEF series. This is a trilogy of companion books, where each book in the series, while chronologically picking up the story from the prior book, focuses on a new character (along with a new romance, including a f/f romance in the final book). This is a rather lovely format in that it there is a satisfying balance of conclusion at the end of each book and continuation of certain threads through the series as a whole. Also, unlike most series, where there is usually that one "weak link,” I found all three books to be equally strong. I can't pick either a favorite or least favorite; I love them all equally. One of my favorite aspects of Ciccarelli's writing and storytelling is her incorporation of original lore/mythology. She weaves this storytelling in between chapters along with references to backstory in little slow-reveal snippets throughout each book. While I love her writing throughout the series, this portion is especially lovely and adds a unique depth to her characters and world-building as well as a dark mystery to the entire vibe of the series.I could not race through these books fast enough, and yet now I'm so sorry for it to be over—definitely re-read worthy!

Just when I thought I knew what could happen the author sent me to an entirely different surprise. Great story.
