A Pocket Style Manual

This is an excellent resource but the quality of the cover leaves a lot to be desired, especially when the book is shipped. In my case it was tossed into a box with numerous other items and bounced around in shipping. The fairly flimsy cover was all bent and torn up. If you like your books in good condition, maybe buy it from a local bookstore.

As a graduate student I am always looking for a great value on a textbook, Amazon always has great prices for the textbooks. The text was kind of dry, but it was required for school.

Great for grammar, but needs an MLA 9th edition update. Also, I don't like how they say "a person . . . they" is better than "a person . . . he or she". MLA does the same. I don't know why both sources are trying to teach students incorrect grammar.

This was recommended to my son by one of his professors. I looked it over and agree. Compact information for the budding writer or college student who needs some reminders about grammar, Chicago or MLA style, etc.

Needed this book for a community college class. It came on time, in great shape and was exactly what we needed for class.

Going to college I was recommended this manual by my Ethnic Studies professor. While not having anything at all to do with the course, my professor made it clear that many in his class have trouble writing essays. I get a little stuck, thanks to writing reviews - like this one, I'm quite comfortable at writing essays. But thanks to the stupidity of young people relying on AI and using it to cheat he can't help but issue this.It has plenty of things that I'm aware of, a few useful tips to remember, and more. A good guide to use if you need to write an essay in a very specific way as well. Good luck.

I haven't read the entire booklet yet but what I have read has helped immensely. I have used this booklet for a Sociology paper that I had to write, and I needed to know how to cite properly in APA style.
