Q: what is the feathers made off

The Feathers are actual Turkey feathers.

Q: Are the wings pliable or shapable? I want to be able to curl the wings around my baby for a picture.

Hello, Unfortunately the angel wings are pretty stiff, they aren't meant to bend or shape around something. Let me know if you have any other questions, thanks for your time.

I would think if in stock a prime item, or pay extra for next day.

Q: Can it fit into a checked baggage suitcase? (Can it be folded in half by its longer side?

They come packaged folded in half down the middle, but I do not think they would be usable after bending them along their longest side.
