85630 DU-ALL Dual-Drain Washing Machine Outlet Box - Single-Lever Valve Installed, 1/2" Sweat Connection, White Plastic

Ordered this because I was relocating my washer and dryer to another room in my house. Pretty easy to install if you know what you are doing.

leaked after install, all preventative precaution measures taken during install. After 5-10 minutes self sealed no leaks since been about 7 months.leaked for first hour or two then stopped. No leaks since. Maybe lucky? Not the best but not the worst.

Purchased a watts brand for $90 from hardware store and it leaked from the handle upon installation. Swapped out for this IPS valve and no problems so far. Box is cheap but so are all other plastic housing anymore.

I followed the instructions on how to remove the test caps but mine seem to be "fused" to the box. I inserted the screwdriver to the bottom of the call, hit it with a hammer, then rotated it. It only made a hole. Then I tried drilling the other side out. Am I doing something wrong? Or was mine defective?

Valve itself gets 5 stars but box gets 3 or less, so 4 stars overall. I wanted single lever control with integrated hammer arrestors, and that's surprisingly hard to find.Like most plastic washing machine valve boxes, the plastic is flimsy and brittle. I don't know why there no middle ground between flimsy plastic boxes and ridiculously expensive metal boxes, but those seems to be the current options.

This was a great upgrade for our laundry room upgrade.Raised it on the wall to be withing code and easier to reach.The old one leaked and discovered washer supply hose degradation so it was a win-win!I like the single lever, 90 degree ball valve because it makes it easy to shut water off when we leave town.The water hammer arrester devices are great addition as well, now we don't have to hear the washer after the fill cycle.Honestly, those should be built into the machine BUT it is what it is.
