Raine BDU 499 Belt, Tan

Great belt for the price
This is actually a great belt but it is made for someone with a larger girth than mine. I have a 36" waist and there is about 6 inches of excess material. The belt measures 50 inches long and has a nice elastic keeper to keep the excess belt secured. I have tried shortening similar belts but without a way to 'melt' the end, it will eventuall fray and look sloppy. I used a propane torch and other heat sources to melt the end but the results were less than satisfactory and the cut eventually frayed anyway. The material is very stiff and does a great job of supporting whatever pistol I happen to be carrying. One more thing...the belt is OD green, not tan.

Good low cost web belt
Not a bad belt. A tad shiny and thiin for carrying anything on your belt. Mine had a bunch of creases and folds in it and needed to hang up to stretch out the weird folds that were in it. There are better belts out there but this one will do to keep my hiking shorts in place!

Good Construction
Seems are well knitted with no loose ends. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is due to belt thickness is not to mil. specs which is what I expected. Also, buy an oversize belt and cut it to your measurement to mitigate any issues in sizing. Use lighter to heat end cut to prevent the nylon threads from coming loose.

Quality Belt in the Correct 499 Tan Color
The Raine BDU 499 Belt works just as it should. It was pretty long so I cut a section off of the end and melted the end to keep it from fraying. Also, it is real stiff at first, but becomes more felxible and easier to to tighten as it is worn. The color is a perfect match for the 499 Tan required with OCPs. The metal buckle functions as expected and there is an elastic strip that can be used to retain any excess belt webbing after passing it through the buckle. This belt has not let me down so far (I've been wearing it aout a month).

No Way You Could Wear This Thing
The belt I received felt like it was made out of sheet metal. It was not malleable whatsoever. I tried and tried to bend it around to break it in, but it was no use. There is no way you can wear this with a uniform. Luckily I was given a refund.
