First of all, after reading a few reviews I'd like to state that this product does not get reused and resold to customers. The oil you are seeing on the filament is simply prelubed for a better seal, so the oil filter is easier to get off and also allows for a less dry of a start up. Secondly, yes toyota are known to be a bit painful to remove the oil filters and that's primarily because of the space that you have to work with. They aren't going to rubberize the oil filter as Fram does. Not only that may be a pat that Fram owns but also because the production of toyota OEM is expensive already because of the casing as well as the medium they use. There filter medium alone catches so much more debris than a vast majority of your after market filters. Regardless, it'd save a lot of time to consider buying oil filter sockets to make the process of removing these so much easier. With the lack of clearance, you won't have an easy time using a belt, chain or pliers. Toyota/Lexus has specifically designed these filters for optimum quality for the engine. Has the perfect flow rate for that engine to help give it a long lasting life with minimal wear and tear. This filter will clean out vast amounts of contaminates within minutes of them being introduced into your oil. Doesn't matter if it's soot or whatever from combustion. The filter medium on a microscopic level, offers way more surface area for debris while still allowing a great flow of oil. It also is put through tons of testing by Toyota to ensure reliability. One of those tests being a vibration test, and it will not loosen to tighten itself as you drive. Which happens frequently with a lot of aftermarket brands for oil filters. Anyways, I hope this helped some people out. You really can't go wrong this filter. It may not be as easy as other brands to remove or put on, but it's going to ensure you get the full life out of your cars engine that you should.

OEM part works well. As it should

If you are picky about what you choose to filter your oil like I am this is an original Toyota filter. I always use OE Toyota filters because there is a difference. There are tests out there of leading name brands and most fall well short of performance. I would recommend this oil filter and they are great value for your money here on Amazon.

The item came in lubricated already. Solid quality material and very easy to tighten by hand. Also fits the standard cap wrench.
