These Capacitors are not labeled. They give you a index on the box that states the capacitors are in bag numbered 11 or 12 or whatever. (depends on the size of the cap) The problem is that none of the bags have labels on them. DO NOT BUY them. They are useless without the bags being labeled. They should not sell them this way. The resistors do have labels on the bags and are fine!

Good range of commonly-used capacitors. Must have for a well-equipped test bench parts box.

This kit came with a nice wide array of capacitors. I found the tolerance of the values to be around 5% checking with a high grade laboratory multimeter(Agilent 34405A). They are all quite small as you can see in the photos I added, so they will work nicely on a project board. If you are curious about the size and quantity just check the pictures I've added. Every bag contains 5 capacitors with the exception of the 100uF 4, 470uF 4, and 1000uF 2. My only complaints, is the bags are not labeled. So you have to reference the markings on the capacitor bodies with the index provided inside the box. This isn't too difficult to do, but it is a little time consuming. Overall I think the kit is a great value for the cost. You would pay this much for individual parts at Radioshack or most local ic parts supply stores. For everyone complaining about not being able to use these: The capacitors that do not directly have the values on them you have to reference the index. For example bag 4 which contains 100pF caps has (101) on the cap if you look closely. Bags 1-3 are marked in Joules, but they completely correspond with their value in picoFarrads i.e 10j = 10pF. The rest are large enough to actually have the values marked on them bags 14-21. It is not impossible to find the values and you do not even need google to do so. The only reason I checked them with a meter was to see how accurate they were. I can understand this being very frustrating for someone new to using ICs for hobbies.

I like this kit because it have a lot of different capacitor values.

I tested all the capacitors in the box, that Elenco shipped to me, with my B&K LCR meter. The electrolytics all tested good. Most were in the 5-10% accuracy range, but some were off by 15%. The electrolytics voltage rating ranged from 25 - 50 Vdc. The mylars and disc capacitors do not have a voltage rating on them, so I would not risk using them in anything above 35 - 50 Vdc. The mylars all measured accurate within 5-10%. However, I had one mylar cap that measured dead - open circuit. The disc caps all measured between 5 - 10% accurate. However, one bag of disc caps had wrong values. Instead of the 470pf labeled, they were actually 220pf caps. What this meant was that I now had ten 220 pf caps and zero (none) 470 pf caps.
