A wonderful translation!!!!!
I have read thru a bible for each of my grandchildren and I chose this one to read thru for my youngest grand child, Benjamin. I have read thru the KJ translation 15 times gave one to each of my children, no I didn't have 15 children :0) I read the same one few times before I gave it to our first born, and read another one a few times before giving it to our second born and the third one a few times and gave it to our third born. ; ) My sister in law was gifted with The Chicken Soup for the Soul bible and told me about it so I bought one and decided to read one for our first 8 grandchildren when I started reading the 9th one for Benjamin I spilled a whole cup of coffee on it destroying it : ( So I heard of this bible and looked into it and decided that it would be for Benjamin, it's a little more read so it took me 1year and 3 months to get thru it but I loved it. I'm sure anyone would love it! You will shed many tears!!!! The LORD is merciful! : )

Excellent study Bible
An accurate translation with added background and explanations. So much easier to understand what you’re reading. Written in a screenplay format. Like no other version you’ve seen. Amazing.

Great Bible but not a Study Bible
I really enjoy The Voice translation of the Bible. I love the beauty of the translation, it's ease of reading, as well as the way it clearly points out who is speaking, almost like a screenplay. I also love the way it gives notes relating to the text within the actual text of the bible as opposed to putting the study notes at the bottom of the page, thereby taking your attention from the Scripture and becoming a distraction. This is a great modern translation to get a feel for what is going on within the story of the Scriptures, and one in which anyone can understand. I don't know that it is the best translation for "deep academic theological study"...but I don't know that that was the goal of this Bible anyway...And that is quite alright.Obviously no translation gets it right everywhere, and some of the book introductions I found a bit lacking. I also don't care for the way in which they translate Christ as the Anointed King. Obviously this is more preference than anything else. I also was a bit disappointed that this version of the Bible is pretty much exactly like other versions of The Voice, so I found it a bit misleading that they referred to it and marketed it as a study Bible. There were slightly more features in the back of the Bible to help the reader along in their walks with Christ however.Overall this is a great Bible, and highly recommended.

Compass Bible
This version of the Holy Bible is becoming hard to get. Although its translation takes several unusual approaches, for instance, dialog is written like in a script with speakers and occasional directions, it reads very easily to modern readers and really deserves wider circulation. In any case, Laus Deo Books had a copy in great condition at a reasonable price with timely delivery. What else is there to want?

Yup!
Exactly what I was looking for… granted I wasn’t too picky. Just wanted this specific translation and the formatting of the text is nice and easy to read.

Love it!!
If you are looking for a bible to do formation reading then this is the one for you. The writer titled this bible Compass for a reason this study bible is definitely the navigational tool we all need for reading and getting understanding.Right in the pages you can find answers that you need. The other day i was reading 1 Kings 13 when God told the Holy Man not to not to go to anyone's house nor eat a meal The Holy man said he was there under God's orders, but the Holy man did when he thought he was talking to a prophet.I was very confused by this, and then after asking the Holy Spirit for help I noticed a dark grey section on the page under the verses, which was notes on the previous verses, and then the lamp under my feet was turned on. I truly enjoy this version and bible.Bonus to the bible has Special helps for getting into the story (dig deeper), A 40 day retreat with Jesus is like a devotional I glanced at it but have not read it. There several other bonus' built into the bible, i promise you won't be disappointed...

Excellent
I will admit that the italicized "this is what they meant to say but left out" portions were jarring at first. But then I saw where the research was coming from and it looked good. I also know that I have several other bibles to falls back on. Then I let go, let God, and have found myself moved personally as never before by a bible. The words carry so much more meaning and clarity. Maybe this is not the Bible you should use for Biblical research, but it is the Bible for getting closer to God's plans.

May NOT be a SOFT cover
This is a hard cover Bible. The term Leathersoft if VERY deceiving, especially since I'd seen my friend's and it was definitely a soft cover. The paper is also not smooth like I've come to expect in a Bible. It reminds me of slightly above thin newsprint. This was from Child of Christ. The one I bought my sister with the same description from Kolisniak was a soft cover.
