are the pads removable if I want just a smooth surface?

I would imagine you could remove them but they are glued on.

Does my 15inch MacBook Pro gonna fit here on this tray?

I velcro my 15 in. Laptop to it. Used it onstage for a couple of years now. Threads stripped pretty quickly, be careful.

I have a monitor stand already. Can I use this part as a replacement for my existing platform?

Its only attachment to anything is a mic stand. If your stand has that threading, then yes. The platform itself looks exactly like the one On Stage uses for their stand package.

Quite Practical

In may social circle just about all my buddies have at least one mic stand lying around. Wished i'd bought more than one when the shipping was free. I'll still get another at a later date. Makes good monitor stands , drum machine stands , Groovebox stand , Speaker stand etc. I use it to eat my dinner off of every day.

Nice quick metal shelf

It’s perfect for my Audio/MIDI interface. I wouldn’t trust a studio monitor on it but it’s perfect for a small mixer or other light electronics.
