Great for the young scientist

Great activity kit but hard to get it going.
The media could not be loaded. It was hard to get the project working. Once the project was assembled, we needed to go back and make sure the metal clips were touching the metal brackets correctly or else it would not work. Because of this I would not give it a five star because we would make sure the metal parts were touching, but with all the assemble handling sometimes we would move the motor again. Basically the motor metal clips are very thin and looks fragile and bend easily.Other than this, the plastic pieces look of good quality material and are easy to put together.The pieces are colorful and the finished project is colorful and attractive to my son.The kit comes with a little tool that you can use to pull off the pieces which is helpful when you need to un-assemble it. This will happen since you use the same pieces to build several models.The instructions are clear and easy to follow.The kit was very attractive to my son which he likes to build things, but when it came to the project not working my husband had to jump in to help and make sure that all connections were correct.

Motor failed within 5 minutes of operation
The concept and instructions outline a good program for introduction to electronics. However, thecomponents don't work together very well. The motor failed within 5 minutes of operation.

Awesome!
This kit teaches from the most basic step to much more complicated. With guidance, my 8 year old learned multiple physics and engineering concepts and was super excited about her creations. Make sure you have at least two new AA batteries on hand.
