It is always interesting to hear the experiences of others. These are absolutely beautiful. I mean, dove tailed boxes!! I am a 72 yo woman and I put them (I got two) together with no problem. The precision of the parts is incredible. I love the wax sealing on the boxes, I love the natural look. I did get the stands and am so impressed! Who knew you could use something other than cement blocks! This is definitely a home run!!

Good hive. Easy to put together.

I have wanted a bees wax dipped hive for awhile, the rest of mine are painted white. I have always enjoyed the natural look. After looking at several hives I chose this one because it had the pre drilled screw holes. Having never put one together before I wanted to know exactly where I should have screws. This was a great hive to start with in building them myself because in the past I have always bought assembled. It went together easily and the only thing I had to buy was wood glue. Other hives often need to have screws and nailed purchased to put together. It is great quality and I love the dove tail joints. If I can put this hive together then anyone can do it. The only negative was a small one. I believe that they burn their logo into the wood after it has been dipped. It left some bare spots without wax (see my second picture). I fixed this by melting some additional wax that I already had into these spots. I will definitely buying additional hives and boxes in the future.

Putting it together was somewhat challenging. Wood very dry and cracked easily. Applied varnish and bees wax to the draws for extra protection. Recommend using wood glue before nailing/ screwing components. Take your time!

Came with all the essentials and easy assembly. The bees did out grow it quicker than expected so we had to purchase an additional box that fit on top making it a double decker which gives the Queen and her babies more space while the rest can make dat hooooney. You will need to have a table for it. We buried the legs of ours so it is steady.

My neighbor contacted me one night with a swarm in her tree so I impulsively ran right over and captured it before it occurred to me that I didn’t have any extra hive boxes. So off to Amazon I went and ordered this baby! It arrived in just a couple of days and I was shocked at how sturdy it was and that instead of nails lost suppliers send, they had screws with pre drilled holes for the hives. The frames were average of what you get from anyone so I used my own screws on them but they were well coated with wax. All over a great purchase that I and my new girls are very pleased with.
