Why do the gold and white options of this newer model only have lollipop and not marshmallow?

All S2 models that begin with SM-T713 are shipped with Android marshmallow. The SM-T710 models are the older models that did not ship with marshmallow and have Samsung Exynos processors. Quite confusing as both are listed as "Tab S2" models. Hope this helps!

The early versions of the Tab S2 (SM-T710 and T810) were released in 2015, have an exynos chip set, and ran on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop (now upgraded to Android 6 Marshmallow.)The latest versions of the Tab S2 (SM-T713 and T813) were just released in mid 2016, have a snapdragon chip set, and run on Android 6 Marshmallow out of the box.

The price depends on who is the vendor.  Your best price is from Amazon (as the vendor.)  When Amazon runs out of inventory (temporarily) other vendors listing on Amazon are highlighted, almost always with higher prices.  When this occurs, just wait a few days, and see if Amazon (as vendor) restocks.Add the above to the fact that Amazon now sells two new versions of the Tab S2 -- at pretty much the same price as the older versions.
