Sticky little lifesavers for your paint-jobs and van life. Picked up this pack of 5 masking tapes because I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve accidentally painted over skirting, tiles, or my own fingers. This tape came as if sent by the DIY gods to save my wall, and my fingers. The tape sticks firm but removes clean — none of that “I’ll leave you behind forever” drama that other tapes deliver. It clings well to walls, wood, metal — even plasterboard — without peeling paint or leaving residue. Great when you’re working in someone else’s house or just don’t fancy sanding off old paint. It’s 48 mm, so you get decent width coverage. I wrapped up edges, masked off radiators, covered door handles — all without slivers of paint seeping under. Just received my ninth box. They have been the best boxes of masking tape I have ever used.... until my latest box. The tape was yellowed (not a problem but was this age related?) As soon as I tried tried to use the tape it tore off at an angle. I have only ever experienced such problems with very old masking tape! I have returned the tape. Will I buy any more...YES. But if I experience such quality issues again I will buy no more.

It’s too sticky, and pulls paint off of walls that haven’t been recently decorated. I shudder to think what it would do with walls painted a few days before.

The tape is robust and does not dry like concrete on doors or walls - due to a gap in working availability I had to leave on walls for three weeks came off perfectly without dragging off finished paint work. Neatly works on masking carpets - wait until the trim paint is well dry (two day min) then crack the paint seal with vertical pressure of finger tips, pull off vertically and cleanly - carpets totally paint free. Creates sharp paint lines at ceilings and trim.
