Not too much depth

This book on its cover describes the book as covering 120 common symptoms that patients present with in general practice. The book however only devotes 25% of its content to symptoms with the remaining 75% covering a wide range of conditions and diagnoses not symptoms! This is a self published book from compass-publishing & I would have thought this major error would have been identified before release. I would have preferred a book orientated to the 20 plus 40 symptoms described in the most recent PA curriculum in helping students & newly qualified PAs to develop their skills in diagnosis. However a book is already available (albeit a heavy tomb & heavy read) that covers those exact 60 symptoms. This book is Acute medicine - a symptom based approach edited by Stephen Haydock which covers the complete 60 symptoms listed in the PA curriculum. Perhaps a general practice version of Stephen Haydock’s book is what is required? Yes, the book primary care for physician associates is a first for physician associates in the UK but it doesn’t do what is says on the Tin! Do we really require any separate books for physician associates as they practice medicine in the same way as their medical colleagues so general medical textbooks should be the most appropriate source of knowledge for most PAs I would have thought?

The first book for Physician Associates and it's amazing! A lot bigger and thicker than I expected. Plenty of room on the page for annotations and notes. It's great to finally have a book that's aimed at PA's scope. Definitely recommend to any PA's - students or qualified.

An amazing book dedicated to PAs practicing in GP. Well structured and written, it is a must-have addition to any PA/students shelf. It is lovely to finally have a textbook solely for the profession, allowing it to have a form of recognition.

This book has all the key information needed from red flags, complications and management - there is plenty of space for me to add my own notes! Great book for learning and referencing back to!

This book is so helpful and informative. I’m glad there’s finally a book out there for physician associates/students who want to work in GP. This is definitely worth purchasing.

Excellent book. I’m really impressed!

I Decided to obtain this book after reading the preview online. It is really relevant to the majority of the conditions you might see as a physician associate or even as a non doctor in general practice, the book goes straight to the point. The book also includes focused history taking and relevant brand names of commonly used drugs and investigation pathway in primary care. I feel this book should be part of the physician associate supplementary recommended books. As a currently practising PA, I still refer to this book alot to refresh and learn new things
