expensive but worth it
im sure you are looking at this product thinking "this seems like way too much money for solder", and yeah, your probably right... BUT, as a hobbyist, solder lasts me a long time - and i don't find soldering to be all that fun. So when I find a solder that just works well all the time, it makes the monotony of soldering a bit less bad. This is it... this is the best solder i have ever used, so yeah - if you want the best soldering experience, and your ok with crying once to have a very large supply of good solder, then this is probably what you want. This is the second time I have bought cardas audio solder. The first time it came on a spool that looked like the product photo (black background, orange text, white section on the bottom with check boxes to indicate spool size). The new spool I got is different, with an all white background, and the logo is orange "cardas audio" text inside a blue rectangle.Trying them side by side, they are different (the flux has a different smell), but the newer solder works better (which is saying something cause the old stuff was also amazing). As for why its better... the old stuff needed external flux to wet to nickel strips, but the new stuff will wet to it almost instantly! soldering to copper wire, its basically the same

An additional "step-up" from the original and excellent "Wonder Solder"
Over years of use, the original "Wonder Solder" has proven itself to be indispensable when soldering joints in a "signal" path - there's not a single doubt that it's a benefit toward "better sound". This solder from Cardas seems to have have taken that to a higher level. I can't directly describe the benefits it brings to sound just because I haven't used it enough (unlike Wonder Solder that I've used for decades) - but others in the "audiophile" industry have voiced that they get very positive results - what I can say having only used the solder a dozen or so times is that it seem to coagulate quickly, so in my opinion, it's less prone to "cold" joints and seemingly, the amount of rosin is less and/or of higher quality leaving a cleaner, final joint over the original Wonder Solder - - so overall it seems to be an exceptional solder - - I purchased the solder for it's "audio" qualities and so far it hasn't given me any reason to think it's not excellent - it's higher costs seems justifiable and I know that it's employed by reputable manufactures of "high end" sound equipment - I would recommend it to anyone who might be using it for this purpose.

Great Flowing Solder
this that makes any measurable difference in the flow of electrons that can be tested with any test equipment. That said, this solder is the best I have ever used for flow and workability. I use it daily, for all my soldering needs. Buy the pound roll as once you have tried it, you will not want to use anything else.

Great for soldering instrument cables
Great solder, great flow. Makes a strong, solid sweet sounding connection. It's a Lil more pricey than comparable solders but it's worth the extra $$
