SUPER EASY, literally less than 5 mins to PROGRAM :) MOST CONFUSING THING is READING THE REVIEWS
UPDATE sept’23:As I’m going back and re-reading some of the reviews I’ve made whenever I originally wrote this I’m guessing maybe a year ago I don’t know what the date is how long I’ve had it, but it works great this I can imagine needing anything better mainly purchase it so my kids can get in and out of the house without needing a key No problems whatsoever works perfectly.EDIT:my review is shown below for the WIRELESS KEYPAD............total 5 star rating at installation but that's only for ease of install and initial use :) hopefully the item proves to be reliable over time and doesn't fall apart or break down (which doubt that it will) but for cheap items made in China quality can/will always be a concern........ if it lasted a year would probably be okay........ if less than that not so much......... anticipating this will last at least that long and more than likely several years......................... but will update this review if things change ;)if reading these reviews and see this at the top of whatever review may be reading:"Color Name: Purple/Yellow/Red/Orange/Green/DIP Switch"then you're reading about the WRONG ITEM = a review w/ that at the top is for a garage door opener that would go in one's car for instanceso the 'top review' shown for this item titled:"5.0 out of 5 stars DOESN'T WORK? START HERE!"is not even for this item..... that review and instructions are for the other regular garage door opener..... so these instructions are meaningless to anyone who purchased the wireless keypad garage door opener.if want to sort thru and read reviews for wireless KEYPAD..... then look for the reviews w/ this information at the top:'Color Name: Garage Door Keypad (Sliding Cover Type)"so my review is for the WIRELESS KEYPAD item.and admittedly I'm electronically challenged...... even the thought of attempting something like installing and electrical item like this....... would typically make me procrastinate for at least 2-3 wks before finally convincing myself had to do it............. in other words, have very little patience for dealing w/ electronic stuff! But that being said:this was literally less than 5 mins to get installed, start to finish.instructions are very clear......... the only thing really need to do is look at your actual garage door opener to identify the color of the button located atone end of the opener (for me at least, others might have to identify some other simple feature on theirs)this worked perfectly the first timeentered the code once.......... door openedentered the code again....... door closesthen read instructions for changing the passcode.... again very plain and simple to do...... another 15 seconds and ALL DONE!

Good Value
Good value for universal door remote. Easy to set up and works with almost every garage door. I recommend.

Good value for the Price but drawbacks
I agree with other reviewers that programming this device is more complicated that it should need to be. However, I was able to get it to work with older Craftsman openers (2). I had the keypad unit for about a year when it stopped working. The keypad was lighting up and making tones properly but it wasn't opening the garage door. I reprogrammed the keypad and it worked for a short period of time before failing again. Then I replaced the battery and it now appears to work. The transmitter electronics must require a higher battery level. It would be helpful if the device had a low battery level indicator.

Waste of time!
After over an hour of failing to sync with either my Genie Intellicode (learning button) or my Stanley Pro 7100 (DIP switches), I read through all the reviews. It was pure love/hate. Easy or impossible. Garbage or great. I am an above average techie and here is my experience:After tens of failures to sync, I stumbled on to the “fact” that the numbers have to be entered VERY quickly (particularly when programming for DIP switches). I was successful in syncing the Stanley and the Genie, but I messed up the Genie when changing the passcode. Eventually had to open the battery door and press the little, black, factory reset button. Then the fun began all over again. Couldn’t get either opener to sync, then the factory reset button stopped working, so I pulled and reinstalled the battery to start over. Did this FOUR times! Still no luck. So…I have absolutely NO confidence in the electronics. That, coupled with multiple reviews saying this thing eats batteries every four weeks or so and I am GONE! Returning immediately.By the way, while I have no problem buying stuff made in China, one would think these suppliers could hire a technical writer that actually knows how to write instructions in English!? The grammar is terrible, the language confusing, and important details omitted. Soooo annoying!I purchased this keypad because it is hard to find one that works with my old Stanley. That said, I strongly encourage anyone who does not need such “backward compatibility” to pay the extra 20 bucks and buy a name brand that has better quality control (at least in theory).

Is it possible to fall in love with a garage door clicker?
If your previous clickers (from Genie as well as other 3rd party providers) have left you frustrated/disappointed with: 1) having to punch in the code multiple times to open the door, 2) short battery life, or 3) programming issues, then yes, Virginia, it is possible to fall in love with a garage door clicker. The quality of this product is outstanding for one simple reason: EVERY time you punch in the code, the door opens/closes EVERY time.It also has two key features that stand apart from the rest: 1) there's an audible beep every time you press a number, so there's no guesswork as to whether the button was pressed hard enough, and 2) it only transmits the last four digits prior to entering #. Why's that important? Let's say you changed the code from "1111" to "2222"; with other clickers: if you accidentally start entering the old code "11" but then you remember it was wrong, then you have to wait an indeterminate amount of time for it to reset. With this clicker, say you enter "112222#" then boom! She opens right up.BTW: For the Genie garage door owners who had a hard time programming -- I had the same issue, but the INFO I DOWNLOADED HAD THE WRONG DIRECTIONS! Make sure you get the exact manual for the exact door from the Genie website. Don't make the same mistake I did by going to ManualsLib or YouTube.Lastly: A couple of recommendations should the manufacturer update the product: 1) add a guest/temporary code feature and 2) the cover sometimes pops off if you open it to fast/hard. But every loving relationship involves compromises, I suppose...
