I am an industrial/graphic designer, the ink flows of the pen freely and lays down solid black lines. It's almost brush like in its feel but lines are consistent and solid. If you are left handed you may find ink stays damp a little longer than you would like although I haven't smudged something in a long while, perhaps the ink dries faster now. Love these pens. These are the best every day pens to use. The ink flows perfectly until it doesn't. You know when it's done- you don't have to shake it down, and it lasts a long time. It never globs or pools, and it dries pretty fast, depending on the surface you've written on. I've used these for close to 10 years- first in my office- and now that I'm retired, I continue to use them at home. She used them during college, and now she uses them in her office. They're a bit pricey (obviously there are much cheaper pens out there) but definitely worth it. We like these particular ones, because the case is pink, so it gives a fun change from the basic silver case that looks more utilitarian.
