Well worth the money. Top tier bow
Had this bow just under two years now. I was happy with it out the box and even more happy with it today. Prior bow was a pawn shop Matthew’s solo cam, great bow but honestly I’d say the sanlidas every bit as well preforming if not better. When I tell you I sighted it in one single time and it hasn’t budged a hair. Ive dropped it 30ft from the stand twice. Banged it around. Killed two deer with it last season. I hadn’t shot an arrow in months and my daughter asked if I could hit a styrofoam plate at 45 yards downhill. First arrow hit the plate after sitting in the closet all winter. Only complaint is I wish it could tune up a little higher. Im 6’3” 200 lbs. Ive got it maxed on draw and length and would love to have it draw to 80 and hold more flat in the 50yardish range. Be warned the release provided is sufficient but not for long. You will eventually snap it mid draw. I highly suggest not letting it get to that point and get a quality one soon. Other than that this is one of those scenarios you don’t have to spend a grand or but from a shop to have a reliable consistent bow. I had never adjusted draw lengths or tuned a bow completely by myself until this one and it is possible. It’s so user friendly I wouldn’t even call it difficult. Would recommend this bow for beginners all the way to intermediate hunters. If you don’t have show off a logo or care about what other guys think then you can’t beat a sanlida.

Great for price
Very good bow, smooth draw cycle, high quality material, and shoots very fast and quiet for 50 lbs. only thing I would say is replace the sight, rest, stabilizer, and arrows.

Solid Beginner Bow with Excellent Adjustability, but Some Quality Concerns
This is my first bow, and so far I’ve been enjoying it. I wanted to get into archery and eventually hunting for a long time, but after rotator cuff surgery, my shoulder has never been the same. Because of that, adjustability was a major factor in my decision. Expectations Before Purchase I was looking for a ready-to-hunt (RTH) bow that was easy to assemble and, most importantly, allowed me to adjust draw length and draw weight as my shoulder strength improves. I also wanted something beginner-friendly without needing to buy a lot of extra accessories. First Impressions Out of the box, everything was included, which was a big plus. The bow truly is RTH, and assembly was straightforward. The overall quality felt solid for the price. Real-World Experience One of the main reasons I chose the X8 was the ability to easily adjust draw length and weight, and it delivers on that. This has been especially important for me given my shoulder limitations. Despite seeing some negative reviews on Amazon, several trusted YouTube reviewers I follow had positive experiences, which ultimately convinced me to give this bow a chance. Challenges / Issues There are a few downsides worth mentioning: The instructions are not easy to follow, including the video on Sanlida’s website. Thankfully, YouTube tutorials helped a lot. The quick release became my biggest issue—it started freezing up after just a few days. The arrows feel inexpensive, and the fletching arrived bent due to poor packaging. After roughly 30 shots, the strings began to fray, which was disappointing. How It Met My Needs Despite these issues, the bow itself does what I need it to do. The adjustability makes it beginner-friendly and forgiving for someone recovering from shoulder surgery, and that alone makes it worthwhile for me. Final Recommendation Overall, this is a good starter bow, especially for beginners or anyone who needs flexibility in draw weight due to injury or strength limitations. Be prepared to rely on YouTube for setup help, and you may want to upgrade some accessories early on. To the team at Sanlida — I’m open to reviewing future products and would be happy to provide feedback.

Awesome starter
Bought for my wife, went through the initial adjustments with very little experience. Easy to accomplish although instructions on setting draw length were seriously lacking. Final assembly was super easy, all the tools needed are included. Optionally, you can get a bow level but I didn't find it necessary (after having bought one) because you end up moving everything later anyway for tuning. Printed in the manual is a chart with draw length and the cam position, but in no way describes the 'indicator' or 'alignment mark' - it simply states, move the cam hole to the desired alignment mark. For reference, there's an embossed line near the bearing that "points" to the screw holding the adjustment plate (which doesn't exactly line up with the mounting hole) and I'll add some pictures later to show my meaning. The peep sight is also adjustable right out of the box. While it appears to be stuck in place, it easily slides up and down the string. As it's only held in place by a couple retaining strings, so don't go shooting until after you've "served" it, basically it's wrapping a string material along the main string, on either side of the peep, to anchor the peep into place - sort of looks like a snell or other fishing knot. This is a great entry-level bow that the wife loves to shoot that didn't break the bank.

Great Bow/Great Customer Service
If you need a budget friendly bow set up then buy this one. (If you want more observations read further.) I wanted to get back to hunting and shooting again, but needed a budget friendly bow. This is a great bow and exceeded my expectations. My observations: 1.) If shooting any real weight, get better arrows right away with a stronger spine and more weight. Shooters with light draw weight the arrows will probably suffice. 2.) The remaining accessories are basic but good enough to get started, the arrow rest will be my first replacement. The bow is the reason for the purchase, the accessories can be swapped out over time to upgrade your set-up. 3.) Setting up and rough tuning the bow is easy to do by yourself. Watch videos and read the manual, if you don’t feel comfortable take it to a bow shop. My local shop was already familiar with the brand and told me even they were surprised by it the first time they shot one. 4.) Overall this is a great purchase with the ability to get into archery with one solid package and the bow alone is worth the price. I expect to get many years of shooting/hunting out of this bow. Customer Service: After receiving the bow I found a manufacturer defect on it, looked up an email address and sent an email explaining the situation. They responded back quickly, asked for pictures and proof of purchase/order number, and immediately approved the replacement parts. Within 11 days of finding the defect I had replacement parts in hand. Can’t get any better than that.

decent bow but ..
I will revise this after I get it all set up and put some arrows through it. My first impression is the bow is well constructed but the accessories and instructions are not good at all. I come from 20 years of recurve bow as a reference. I have serious doubts that the included arrows are 500.. They feel very weak. the bow should clearly say what draw weight and draw length they ship with. You cant make accurate adjustments without knowing your starting point. The instructions are my biggest complaint.. Seriously if you are going to market this bow for beginners you need a good instruction and installation manual. The ad here on Amazon says that you dont need a bow press to make weight adjustments and then the flimsy instruction flier dedicates 2 full pages to using a bow press to adjust weight.. Im not saying this bow is bad but its definitely in need of better instructions. Im also not thrilled with the quiver installation instructions.. theres nothing in the set manual at all on that and the downloadable pdf I found in the Amazon ad is pretty useless. .. also made complicated by a defective quiver mount I received. .The piece that should rotate needs a vice grip to move.. I hope with some breaking in it will improve. Havent shot the bow yet but will add more review when I do. Updating May 31..If I could drop a star more for lack of customer service I would. They responded to me but really just gave me lip service . "Our DragonX8 RTH kits, which include a set of 12 , are priced at an unbeatable value of $199.99. It's a competitive price that reflects our commitment to providing high-quality products at the best possible value. Please understand that at this price point, we are operating at the thinnest of margins, essentially offering these kits at cost to ensure our customers receive the best deal. Many customers will upgrade their own accessories to suit their needs. In order to provide better after-sales service for your purchased products, please search Sanlidaoutdoor online and fill in the warranty form. Upon submission, we will initiate the after-sales service process on your behalf" They missed the point though that if you have to buy better arrows to make the most of their bow its not really costing you $199. . I have since replaced the arrows with easton 2016 Lite arrows and good quality carbons. I replaced the release. The release sent was not reliable at draw which was very dangerous. The arrows that were sent with the bow were not good at all out of any of my bows. Buyer beware, you will probably be replacing much of their included kit. This manufacturer really could take more time to listen to its customers. Theres no excuse for a lack of adequate clear instructions and sub par accessories. The bow itself is a good bow....but they really miss the mark on the instructions and gear and really thats a huge liability since this bow will be used largely by novices. Update July 2025, I have been shooting this bow now for a while and its been performing well however did have the peep sight go flying off on me. Not really sure why but I guess it wasn't tied in well.

Warranty Issues
I have the Sanlida Dragon X8 RTH which I really enjoy. My only issue is warranty. I broke the string by accident, so I reach out to request for service. I was told that the warranty does not apply to this model. I few days ago, I reached out to them again for a lost draw length adjustment screw and they told me to just order from Amazon because if they will send the replacement, it will come from China and may even get lost on the way. I was lucky to find one at Lowes. Overall, it’s a great beginner friendly compound bow. Bottom line. despite the experience with service, I decided to upgrade to X10 which is supposed to be a lot better, and hopefully better quality.

Awesome bow
Wow!!! This bow is incredible! It is incredibly quiet. It is easy to adjust and the arrows are surprisingly durable(I’ve personally bumped them of trees multiple times and they still work. The release is comfortable and smooth. I definitely recommend taking it to a bow store to adjust the peep and sight it In 😃

exceeded my expectations
I received my Sanlida Dragon X 8 compound bow kit in June of 2003 and while I was immediately impressed with the bow and accessories I decided to wait until I got to experience it's performance before writing a review. It's now 6 months later and after hundreds of arrows down range I can honestly say I have no regrets, in fact, the club members I often shoot with ( all have way more experience and skill than I possess ) tried the bow and ranked it's performance comparable to their high end expensive bows. I am so impressed with the Sanlida product that I am seriously considering the purchase of their Royal X8 recurve @ 55# and try my hand at traditional archery
