Do I need to remove the original shoes insoles to insert these?

It really depends upon the shoe type. If you have a casual shoe or sneakers with a removable insole, we would suggest that you remove the existing insole before placing our insole in your shoes. If you have a dress shoe with a very thin leather insole, removal is not necessary.

Can the insert be cut to fit with shoe size?

There are two versions of the the Dr. Scholl's plantar fasciitis inserts. The one that is already cut is perfect for my size (size 9) and is about 21.95. It is great. Just order it in your regular size. The other one, which you have to cut to your own size, is about 15.95 or 16.95. I ordered quite a number of these types, as well. The first one I cut to the size nine line, but it turned out to be just a tiny bit long, so I trimmed it a bit more -- to halfway between the size 8 and size 9 line and it fits perfectly. So I cut all the rest of the (trim your own) variety to that halfway mark and they are all great (which makes sense since I am actually a shoe size 8 1/2. So they are both great--the one that is already sized and cut for you, and the one you cut yourself. I have about eight pairs of the cheaper cut your own version and four pairs of the more expensive already cut version. They are both excellent and have been a lifesaver with my plantar faciitis. The pain decreased by 80 percent as soon as I started wearing them, though I have not made too much progress in eliminating the final 15 to 20 percent of the pain that is still there. I have the special Dr. Scholl's plantar fasciitis inserts in about a dozen sneakers. Can't do without them!

How are these insoles different from the custom fit orthotic inserts by the same company?

The plantar fasciitis insoles are made specifically for people dealing with plantar fasciitis. To get the custom fit insoles, you need to visit a Dr. Scholl's store or use the Dr. Scholls custom fit machine found in some large WalMart type stores. The fitting machine will determine which custom fit insole is best for your foot type. This is why they are called custom fit insoles. You get a custom fit and recommendation from the machine.

How are these insoles different from the custom fit orthotic inserts by the same company?

The plantar fascitis insoles are made specifically for people suffering from plantar. To get the correct custom fit insoles, which can also aid plantar fascitis, a visit to a Dr. Scholls store or fitting machine is recommended to get the correct insoles. The custom fit insoles are more expensive, so a custom fit from the fitting machine is required and recommended to get the true custom fit.

Helped

Nothing special about these foot beds and in fact seem rather flimsy. Tried for plantar fasciitis on a recommendation - no improvement yet - it is a long curing process so hopefully will help.

These things work

I regularly stand for hours at a time and walk between 10k to 20k steps a day. My feet were absolutely killing me. I bought these and never looked back. With some good foot rolling and these inserts, I’ve pretty much mitigated my pain and suffering. It takes some getting used to but worth the minor adjustment period

Tried running in these today and had to turn around and go home to take them out. Not comfortable, made the pain in my feet worse. Don’t recommend
