Review: The updated edition is very well organized compared to the ... - The updated edition is very well organized compared to the prior edition. The Vascular Neurology, Neurocritical Care, and Epilepsy sections are very well done and informative. The "Neurology Consult" section was removed and did not serve much of a clear purpose in the first edition. The Pediatric Neurology section was also removed and is integrated into the rest of the handbook. Review: Very useful! - This has been a great little book so far. I have the hospital internal medicine book too and love it! Handy to carry with you or just keep on the desk. Takes a bit to figure out the abbreviations they use, but there is a guide and you catch on quick, pretty intuitive.

Not as nicely organized as Pocket Medicine
I'd give this a 3.5/5. Compared to Pocket Medicine: I like pocket medicine better. I felt that the book was more organized and was very clinical. Chest pain: etiologies, workup etc. I feel with this book the organization is not as good. There's no nicely defined chapters as in pocket medicine. The information is definitely good and uptodate with the new edition, however I find that many times it's quicker to just search on my phone than try to find it in the book.

You need this in your life
I started a new job in neurology, and while I came from a heavy background in stroke, there was a definite learning curve with the other nuances of this specialty. This book is well organized, easy to follow and covers everything from acute emergent management....to identifying some of those "once in a lifetime" conditions. I had the internal medicine one while I was in school, and was so happy to see they had specialized editions as well!

Excellent reference when on limited time.
This guide is an excellent "go to" reference for anyone working in an in-patient hospital setting. All of my co-workers agreed! Recommend this as a quick, efficient neuro source when time is of the essence, as is the "usual" case in neurology. Recommend it without hesitation.

Perfect Neuro crash course
I bought this as a PA student on clinical rotations with an Neurology/Neuro ICU rotation. This book was spot on. All of the major points are covered in a succinct way. When I was Pimped by world class Neurologists and Neurointensivists I was able to give a correct response to most questions. I bought the Kindle version which is nice to have available on the IPhone/kindle app.

The first edition helped me through my med student times. Now as a Nx resident I can probably say that this is the most helpful resource you can have handy during your clinical rotations! It's a must have.

Excellent Reference Book
A very good reference book for the neurology residents and busy neurologists packed with a lot of information and references. The second edition is slightly expanded and lacunae in the myopathy chapter is addressed. Some of the chapters like Neuro-rheumatology , epilepsy, oncology, dementias, multiple sclerosis are just awesome. Some topics like Parkinsonism and diseases of muscles required more elaboration.Anyway the editorial team and contributors deserve due appreciation for bringing out this new edition with up to date knowledge in neurology. .

So much information.. so compresed.
It's perfect except on vascular neurology. I think it's too short about that subject. The others are great. However, I think that vascular neurology deserves an own pocket book.
