LGB 70307 Passenger Train Starter Set

Fantastic, beautiful product. Easy to set up, has a switch inside the engine that allows sound effects to be turned off. Simple way to make a nice garden feature.

Amazon contacted the seller as I had an import tax bill, which I think was really high .However he contacted me straight away and then transferred the money back to me. Fantastic customer service and the train set arrived yesterday and it is very nice quality and my son absolutely loves it, especially the lights and steam. Thank you!

** Final update: 1o-Mar-2o22 ** Simply put, my experience with this item has been appalling. Despite Amazon and Mandrops being fully aware of all the circumstances, I have paid £424.71 for a broken LGB starter set which is still in my possession. Amazon promised to investigate but did not. Mandrops have also gone quiet, having given me the runaround since I reported the damaged product. As a result, I have a very expensive train set which remains packed away in its box with little hope of a replacement, a refund or a working product. And that, for me, concludes the matter. I'm not willing to put any more effort into "sorting" an issue that both Amazon and the supplier (Mandrops) seem to have no intention of resolving. Instead, I'll write this one off to experience i.e., never again. ** Interim update: 14-Jan-2o22 ** This is insulting. It's been one day since my original review (below) which described having to pay a surprise Import Product Invoice for the sum of £79.8o (over and above the advertised price). BTW, unlike the previous review, I did NOT get this payment returned to me. Anyhow, 24 hours on, guess what?: Yes, all change; VAT now included in price, etc., most likely due to a change in the default supplier. Seriously?: This is how Amazon treat customers, is it? Well, we'll see because upon carefully unboxing the set, the locomotive was found to be damaged. I have informed the supplier but have not received a reply. Not that it matters now. The set is faulty and will be returned. Clearly, a full refund (original price, shipping and full IPI amount) is expected. I'll provide an update later but TBH, I don't have a good feeling about this... Watch this space. ** Original review: 13-Jan-2o22 ** It's a great starter set if you're considering a G gauge/ scale layout but... ... Before ordering this set on the Amazon UK website, please be aware that the cost of this item (£336.51) + postage (£8.4o), totalling £344.91, does not reflect the total cost that you will ultimately pay. This, as I found, only becomes apparent upon receipt of the unexpected Import Parcel Invoice (IPI), for an additional £79.8o, shortly before the scheduled delivery. This is, of course, a consequence of Brexit. In essence, the IPI covers UK VAT (@ 2o%) and a clearance charge (for administration costs). Hence, UK customers have to pay more for goods from EU-bloc suppliers. Conversely, the UK market proves less attractive to EU-bloc suppliers. However, although numerous EU-bloc suppliers, including various German companies, already state "all inclusive" prices incl. UK VAT @ 2o% and shipping, others do not. Unfortunately, as Amazon do not provide clarification on this matter, I would advise that you make further enquiries in order to avoid unexpected invoices for avoidable costs. Anyhow, for your "Amazon" delivery to take place, you are required to settle this invoice within 2o days. Otherwise, the item will be returned to the supplier in Germany. Clearly, the total price paid is now £424.71, which is not particularly competitive for a set that can be bought from UK retail outlets for c. £1oo - £15o less (total price incl. VAT, postage, etc.). Amazon do not make this clear, which does no-one any favours: Customers pay more and have to deal with unexpected invoices while the suppliers involved e.g., LGB and MANDROPS AG, neither of which are at fault in any way, have their reputations tarnished, both unfairly and unfavourably. The situation is made more irritating given that at least one of the UK retailers for LGB products referred to above (e.g., Gaugemaster Retail), is the company which will actually fullfil orders for certain LGB products (e.g., LGB 1200mm straight), when ordered via Amazon (make of that as you will). It is, all in all, a ridiculous state of affairs. It is also, above all, a reality of life for UK consumers and EU-bloc suppliers, now that Brexit is well and truly "nearly but not quite" or rather "not even close" to being done.

Marklin e LGB sono il massimo del settore, start set completo e semplicissimo da usare. Il prezzo seppur non economico è tuttavia competitivo rispetto all'acquisto dei singoli componenti. Materiali e costruzione top. Per chi ha spazio in casa o un giardino è una goduria.

Train de jardin fonctionnant parfaitement. Très beau modèle réduit de belle taille pour grands et petits.
