Polymaker Matte PLA Filament 1.75mm, 1kg, Forest Green

Normally, I don't go out of my way to write a review unless I really feel like a product deserves it. This is one of the few cases where something works perfectly and does exactly what it claims to do. I am honestly shocked at how good prints with this have come out. I don't have a picture to attach at the moment, but I printed a little cat sculpture model I found online as a test and I was totally blown away by how smooth it looked and felt. So far, every single print I have made with this stuff has come out smooth with no visible layer lines even with a 0.6mm extruder. It's not even just that it *looks* smooth, it even *feels* smooth. I was expecting this to let me down but instead it has totally exceeded my expectations and has been consistently producing high quality, smooth, prints that don't even feel like they were 3D printed. Tl;dr: it does exactly what it advertises and does it extremely well. If you're for some reason on the fence about this filament and are skimming through reviews, just buy it. It's totally worth it. I was able to use the preset for PolyTerra PLA in OrcaSlicer and have been getting flawless prints. I'm using a Flashforge ADM5 Pro for my printer but comparing this to other filaments I believe this can likely achieve flawless prints on any printer and does not seem to have any issues with stringing or adhesion. I recommend using a textured plate as it gives a nice texture on the bottom surface of the print that totally hides any hint of layer lines on the bottom. The only issue I encountered with this filament is that it adhered to my plate a little too well, so when I had a print fail after the first layer because of a printer issue it was extremely difficult to remove this stuff from the plate. In terms of completing a print, this is definitely a pro as I have no worries about it detaching during the print... but if for some reason you need to remove this after one or two layers be prepared for a fight lol

I have purchased so much of this stupid filament since I discovered it. I have stacks of empty spools. And just, uggh, I need more. Let me calm down for a second here and give you as better review. Polyterra is an amazing filament, with good colors, great surface finish. It's not a stock every day PLA, so you will probably want to tweak your settings for it, but when you get it dialed in, it can blow you away. And the price, damn it, that price. My filament of choice for a long time was strictly Hatchbox or Paramount 3d. Two great choices. I mostly didn't buy into Polymaker's products because they were kind of expensive, to be honest. One day I pried open the doors of amazon though and took a look around to see what I was missing. And I found it, a 20 dollar roll of filament by Polymaker, a respected company. It almost seemed to good to be true, and with the first few rolls, well I was blown away, but also thought it was too good to be true. I had troubles getting it to print at first. With tweaking settings though, it went from being too good to be to true. To just being so good, I can't believe it's true, but it is. I would say it's a little more fragile compared to other choices. I can't print all of my "products" in Polyterra, as some of them have smaller details that seem more prone to breaking, compared to a more traditional PLA. I think the colors are amazing. They are matte, which goes a long way to give a pleasing quality to the prints. One thing I hated about more traditional PLAs was the overly cheap plastic look. Gross! I especially hate glossy black printed parts. I think they look so cheap. Colorwise, they're good, but not perfect. I'll still purchase filament from Paramount 3d, because they have an excellent range of colors. The problem with Polyterra, is it can be a little pastel heavy. Their army colors do fill the gaps a little though. Overall the range of colors covers most of my day to day 3d printing needs. I especially think the colors go well in cases where one is printing inserts for board games, where they would ideally match the player colors for that game. In this regard, I've actually been surprised at how well they all jive together, even across several manufactures of board games that have slight variations in color. In other products I produce, people have had a lot of positive feedback about the colors. It surprises me too. Like, I hate yellow with a passion, but the Savannah Yellow I really like. The Matte Fossil Gray is one of my favorite grays. I love using it for more neutral focused things, like in board games for card holders and stuff. The Matte Charcoal Black is the only black I'll be purchasing for awhile. Basically, every color I try, I have glowing things to say about them. Polymaker woke up one day and said hold my beer, I'm gonna show you how to do it proper. And they did.

Polymaker Filament (PolyTerra matte, Panchroma, Polymaker PETG) I recently switched to Polymaker filament, and it prints well with the recommended settings on my Prusa MK4 and XL. I like the wide range of colors and different materials they offer for at a reasonable price. ⚙️ Usage: I do print mostly PLA (matte) and PETG filament. Everything I print is for my personal use only, I do not sell any 3d printed parts. Most of my 3d printed stuff is for storage solutions and organization (drawer organizers, tool holder etc.). I have tested a range of other brands but always come back to Polymaker. The combination of quality and price is the best I have found so far.

Prints beautifully, clean, the blackest black. Has a carbon filament look to it. In direct light, almost looks dark gray. The matte finish is sublime. It hides all sorts of sins in the print. When I got this, it was sealed in a bag. Didn't even dry it. Just threw it into the printer and did a 7 hour print. Works so well. Just an outstanding filament. So easy to work with, and makes beautiful prints. The default profile for the Polymaker PLA in Orca works just fine. I tried to capture a few pics of the surface finish, but it's so smooth the camera can't focus on it.

I tested this filament on both my Bambu Lab A1 and Anycubic Kobra. Overall, it printed well and produced a clean matte finish with consistent color. I did experience one clog while using the spool, but after clearing it, I was able to continue printing normally. Good filament overall, though not completely trouble-free.

My go-to filament for any kind of project. It is not the fastest or the strongest, but it will deliver a high quality print every time. I support the PolyTerra eco-friendly initiative and believe that for everyday prints materials like these are much better for the environment. The matte finish helps hide layer lines, so finished prints look very uniform and consistent. After a bit of testing I found it prints best around 195-200 degrees with little oozing and decently fast extrusion of around 15mm^3/s. The width is a consistent 1.75 mm so my extrusion multiplier is 1.0 and my nozzle hasn't had a clog yet with this filament.

Okay I want to say I know my picture are not the best but allow me to explain. The top spool is the polyterra pla you can see the difference in how matte it is right off the bat. Now I've used amazon basics, overture, hatch box and sunlu Filament so far and I can say that it beats out the overture matte Filament pla. As a guy prints out mechanicap parts often I can say that the pla held up as it's a bit stronger than the tipical pla. I've read some reviews saying that people had issues printing it. I can't really compare my situation with everyone else's but the settings I found to work quite well on my Prusa MK3s are printing at 215 (this filament seems to do better at this temperature) I also had to raise my z level up a smidge. The bridging isn't as good as with other PLA and it does seem to be a bit more prone to stringing. But you can use " avoid crossing perimeters" at 60% (this is on Prusa slicer, not sure what it's called on cura) and it just works. I haven't tried printing with supports yet. But my final verdict is that it's an overall good Filament. I like to normally print with PETG but the matte colors are hard to pass up. They look so good. It really hides the layer lines. I also like to think the fact that the spool comes from recycled cardboard. They include both a filament notch to let you know how many grams you have left along with the weight of the spool for people that put it on a scale. Also they plant 1 tree for each spool bought. Personally I don't feel bad anymore because of throwing out my plastic spool holder. So at the end of the day, at the $20 price point you can't go wrong with it, you help the environment and also get some cool matte colors.

Je suis très satisfait de ce filament PolyTerra PLA de chez Polymaker. Dès l’ouverture, la bobine en carton recyclé donne une bonne première impression écoresponsable. Le conditionnement est soigné, sans vrille ni emmêlement du filament. Lors de l’impression, le filament s’extrude parfaitement à 200°C avec un plateau à 60°C, exactement dans les plages recommandées. L’adhérence au plateau (verre + colle bâton pour ma part) est très bonne, et le filament ne présente aucun warping, même sur des impressions longues. La finition est mate comme annoncée, ce qui donne un rendu professionnel, sans reflet plastique cheap. La couleur rouge est profonde, uniforme et très esthétique sur les pièces finales. Aucun bouchage de buse à signaler, et les couches se lient de manière propre et homogène, même à vitesse élevée (60 mm/s). J’ai imprimé plusieurs pièces fonctionnelles et décoratives, et la résistance mécanique est au rendez-vous, tout en gardant une bonne précision. Mention spéciale pour la faible odeur à l’impression, ce qui est très appréciable en usage domestique. C’est un filament fiable, propre, agréable à utiliser et respectueux de l’environnement. Je recommanderai sans hésiter, et j’envisage d’acheter d’autres couleurs de la gamme PolyTerra.

Tra tutti i PLA che ho provato sulla mia Ender, questo è tra i migliori (assieme al marchio Basicfil). Layer quasi impercettibili e si nota subito dal primo layer che la stampa andrà a buon fine, mai fallito un lavoro, e i supporti si staccano facilmente.
