I used this to put up some curtains and it worked very well. The reason that I did not give it 5 stars is that one of my rods the end would not come off and has to be hammered off. This only required it being wrapped in a towel and tapped 2 times. It came off easily and went back on well.

This items works great, does what it's supposed to do BUT it is nearly impossible to get it to adjust in size. For one you have to turn it counter clockwise to open it up and it is very hard to turn to get loose to adjust... I had 3 different men try and turn it for me and I almost returned it but we finally got it loose to adjust to where I needed it. Other than that it works great and is very sturdy.

The curtain rod we selected was black/matte, and it looks terrific with all our light wood cabinets. It was very easy to install - we just figured the best height and rotated one side of the pole to tighten into place. Since our bathroom walls have a textured surface, it took a little effort to shift the pole into a straight position, but not an issue at all. Also, we purchased (separately) matching black shower curtain hooks from Amazon & it looks like a complete set! It’s already made our bathroom look better. Now we have to replace all the other hardware to match the look of our new guest bath.

I bought this rod because I'm not ready to drill brackets in my windows. It was very easy to put my curtains on and to hang up. It has very good tension to hold my heavy curtains. I used it in my dining room. Just make sure the part of your curtains that goes on the rod fit the diameter of the rod. Great for a temporary or permanent fix.
