Keeps veggies and fruit fresh
These keepers are wonderful. Washed a whole head of iceberg lettuce and it stayed fresh, no red on it, right to the last leaf. It works for other greens also. Strawberries stored in the small one stay good much longer then in the clear plastic carton they come in. I didn't lose but one or two of them. Fresh carrots, washed and tops trimmed keep so well and celery, even if you cut the whole bunch in half to get it in the keeper, stays crisp until you use it up. I wash my veggies and shake the water off, pat them with white paper towel and store them in these keeps, they last a long long time. I do not wash strawberries until I use them or blueberries either. But I do inspect the strawberries before I store them, toss the ones that have bad spots or cut them out.

This is such a great money saver!
I really love this container! I initially bought it to keep my celery fresh but I’ve since used it to also keep cucumbers and romaine hearts. I read an article about how distilled water works just as well as fancy produce cleaners so what I’ll do is as soon as I get my celery home I’ll put it into this container (sometimes I have to chop a bit off the top to get it to fit) then I pour some distilled water over it. I love that the tray at the bottom keeps things from getting too soggy. Then I can rinse and repeat if I think I need to, though I always buy organic so I’m not as concerned about pesticides and just want to remove any dirt. Once I’ve done that I can put it in the fridge and any excess water can just drip off to sit under the tray. Then I just use the food right out of the container and it always is so clean and fresh!I really need to buy more. I see this as a great investment because I want to eat more produce but being 7 months pregnant I’ve had a hard time remembering to use all my produce in time, before it spoils, yet everything that’s been stored in this has never gone to waste! I want to get at least two or three more like this one for asparagus and to hold more romaine as well as the celery and cucumbers, and I’m hoping they have a size large enough to hold a large head of cabbage.Update: September 16, 2019I bought three more of these a little bit after my initial review and I really love them. Even my husband commented on how crisp the lettuce stays when it’s been kept in one of these. I tried putting a cabbage in one of them but even with a small cabbage the best I could do was half small cabbage cut into quarters. Sadly they don’t make a good size for storing cabbage yet.

Seems to work
We live an hour from the nearest grocery store--an hour and a half to the nearest everything else. I got tired of driving so much every week for groceries and especially for produce. I couldn't get our produce to last more than week, if it would last a week at all. Oftentimes our produce would go bad before then.I bought a couple different sizes of these containers. I especially wanted the long one for zucchini. Zucchini is one of my favorite vegetables and they tend to go rubbery in the fridge by the end of the week. I was able to fit one medium zucchini, two carrots, and a package of broccolini in one of the long ones. In the large square container I kept 3 smallish heads of broccoli, in another one I kept brussels sprouts and mushrooms, and in a smaller square one I kept strawberries.I used the carrots and half of the broccolini earlier in the week, but I just used the zucchini last night, as well as a bunch of mushrooms. The produce was stored unwashed and uncut (as instructed) in these containers for 10 days after I bought them. None of the containers could fit in my crisper drawer (except the smaller strawberry container) so they were elsewhere in the fridge, but the veggies kept marvelously. They were almost just as good as the day I'd bought them. The only produce that didn't seem to do as well was the strawberries. But strawberries are never in the greatest shape where I live, so I don't really fault the container. I think they still lasted longer than they would have without it.I'm confident that these containers will be able to keep my vegetables crisp for a full two weeks. It'll be nice not to have to drive hours for produce every single week! I will likely buy more of these containers and .I think it's time to go shopping for a mini fridge to keep in the garage for extra produce!

Really works! Even on strawberries!!
We bought these after years of incredible frustration over how fast fruit, particularly strawberries, start to turn/rot. I feel like if we didn’t use a container of strawberries in the first 24-35 hours after purchasing, we would end up throwing out the fruit as it would rot so quickly. We tried several DIY tips to extend the life of our produce before purchasing these. None were particularly successful and all were more time consuming than a busy house needs. We bought a container of strawberries that we washed, dried, and put in this produce saver. Two days later, we bought a second container and cleaned the same, but did not put in the container. Two days after that, the second container was a disgusting mess of decaying strawberries that had to be thrown away, while the strawberries in the produce saver looked great. Five days for strawberries is amazing! We wanted to see how fresh they would stay, but after 6 days, they were all eaten. I’d estimate that we could have gotten another day or two out of them before needing to be tossed. I am very happy they lasted so long and I didn’t have to waste any fruit by tossing out rotten strawberries the day after I buy them. I was definitely skeptical of this set of containers, but was proved wrong. They work in extending the life and freshness of produce.
