Besides the MXL, also fits Groove Tubes 5sm. 5/8" thread, no 3/8" stand adapter included.
I'm sure it fits the MXL 990 as advertised but that's not why I bought it. My Groove Tubes 5sm mics originally came with similarly looking stand holders that were lost or broke over the last 25 years — so I took the chance. The actual stand mount is metal with a 5/8" thread popular in the US. Unlike many clips and mount nowadays, it does not come with an EU style 3/8" thread adapter. For many, this is important to know. The conical plastic band that holds the microphone does not fit like the original did but that's ok. The molded top and bottom lips do grip the mic well and that's all I need it to do. I was hoping it would fit some of my other microphones but it doesn't. I needed them to fit my pair of GT 5sm mics—they do and I'm happy. Amazon also carries shock mounts that fit my mics if you search.

Cheap, but does the job.
Did not notice it was plastic. Cheap product, but as long as you don't abuse it, it should be fine.

This was the part that did what the part I needed to do does :)
Pretty great to easily find a microphone part for a 20+ year old mic. And it is as good as the original part... THanks MXL!!

Plastic
Not metal, doesn’t screw on. More snaps into place. Works but could be better!

Plastic, incomplete & unnecessary MXL goof
What a mess I went through to figure this out. They have no reason to be selling the mostly-plastic and incomplete MT001. Get the steel V6-H.MXL doesn't properly describe either mount. The steel V6-H, named for their V6H mic, fits the 770 and 990 perfectly, as it probably would for other similarly designed mics.Wacky Explanation: The MT001 doesn't include a flange (circular nut at the bottom of the mic) to use with the MXL770 even though the cheaper, almost-identical 990 includes it. The MXL rep said that no flange was available separately. They were about to exchange my two 770s with 990's, just so I could use this mount when the rep discovered separate 990 flanges they sell for $5.00 more, making the MT001 actually cost about $13.00 total. Then the tech dept told her that MXL's $15.00 all-steel V6-H Mount works just as well. This was all a waste of time and no one knows why they even bother selling the MT001.

Works perfect
The shock mount fell apart after 10 years of use. I did not want another one, just something to hold my condenser mic in place. This is rock solid, it screws in just like a mic clip/holder.
