The nibs are gold plated and came in fine condition. Depending on how deep the nib is in the pen it could be hard to pull out the old one and place in the new. Lining up the nib with the holder when replacing is crucial. Maybe if you are gentle you can remove the old nib and replace the new by using a small set of pliers. Be careful not to squeeze so hard as to deform the gold nib nor the holder.

I ordered these thinking they were #6 size nibs. When I received them, they weren't even close!! They are a lot smaller than the #6 size nib! Please fix the advertisement to say what size of nib they are, not what size of line it writes. I was very dissatisfied with this product.

If you enjoy hacking fountain pens, these are good #6 nibs that can be ground to any shape you please. I've also had success in extending the slits, making them flex nibs.
