Yes these shed but so far not affecting durability. Otherwise lovely and well made.Expect to change your vacuum bag every time you vacuum this rug. They shed like crazy.That said, I love it, it seems thick enough and durable so far. Very comfortable rug! Just be aware the lint will get all over you or whatever comes in contact, unless you vacuum it regularly.

We've had this several months now and still remark about how perfect it is and how easy it is to keep clean.Our house is a new construction and we wanted it to feel like a craftsman style and this checked the boxes.

Safavieh Heritage Collection HG409A, 8X8 rug. A very pretty rug. However, it is FULL of a musty smell, presumably from mildew. The rug is thick (and very heavy), and if anyone in your household has allergies, it will be a huge problem. I have sprayed it twice with Lysol, with no lessening of the odor. Next, I'll try baking soda and then, if necessary, a vinegar solution. If they don't work, I'll rent a rug-cleaning machine. If that doesn't work, then I'll have to call a professional carpet-cleaning service. For a seventy-two year-old person, this is a lot of physical effort--but it is less than what would be needed to roll up the rug and rewrap it so that it could be returned. Wherever the rug was stored before being sold, the seller clearly did not take adequate care of its merchandise.

Haven't even had the runner for 24 hours and it has flattened out nicely and the smell went away immediately after unpacking. The rug is thick and feels great on the feet. I did not buy a non skid mat because I wanted to see if its weight would keep it in place. But I would absolutely suggest some thing for underneath to keep it from moving. I added a small nonskid mat that I had with a different rug (it’s only about 4 foot) and it’s helping keep the runner in place.

Really like how thick it is and how rich it looks. Great deal for the price.
