A First Look at Communication Theory

Like many students, I don't like reading textbooks. However, this textbook was actually enjoyable to read. The way the theories are written is easy to understand and I like the personal examples the author gives. I usually hate reading theories since the way some are written can be very confusing, but again, these are easy to comprehend. Not to mention, the chapters are not very long compared to some other textbooks. This made reading the chapters for class nice, too. Short, sweet, and to the point.

I purchased this book as a requirement for graduate school. At first I dreaded reading it, like most do in school. I ended up using this book through my entire two years in school, and found it to be the most educational tool. The book was in amazing condition! I couldn't recommend this book enough. I will give everyone a warning: with every new addition, some of the theories are removed or added. The books website is amazing and has additional information.

I absolutely love this text book and I wish I didn't rent it because I would love to own it. It's interesting and it holds my attention. It talks about various theories and the communication field. It's also very informative

complete up to date vision of communication theories and new perspectives in the field of communication. Although some of the new theories appear to be fillers for ones publishing requirements for tenure and dissertations. As a text book it is comprehensive but it appears that the field of communication studies has become a platform for every new fangle dangled theory ...one built upon another much like a house of cards just waiting for a steady breeze ....over all the text tries to cover all the new ideas being studied in this field. Well organized but some of the newer schools of thought would do well to be on stand by before calling it a theory....

The book was new and awesome! Everything was there. I ended up carrying the textbook around a lot so I made it looked more used despite the fact that when I ordered to rent it was given to me under: used, so I was better off! I recommend this store.

The book was EXACTALLY as described. It is not a very good book in general, but that's not amazon's fault as much as the authors. Would reccomend to anyone who's required to purchase it for ENGL 1000

The content was not the problem. This new & expensive book, I had to buy for school, arrived with a creased & crumpled front & back cover. So much for resale when I finish the class.
