Awesome first set of raw denim..
This was my first set of raw denim, and I'd heard this was a good weight to start with. It absolutely is! After ~3 days of wear it already feels broken in and looks great. Do need to take it in for hemming as the ~35in inseam is too much, even with some stacking & cuffing, but they're sanfordized so no big worries about excessive shrinkage post-hem. The Weird guy fit works for me and fits true to size. Sizing down would have let the waist stretch to the right size after 2-3 days, but the thighs would have been uncomfortable since I wasn't aiming for a skinny guy fit. I had already been looking at these and caught them on a Cyber Monday discount here so between the product and price, I'm definitely satisfied!

Absolutely LOVE this pants!
This are my first pair of high quality jeans, and actually high quality pants in general and I love them, they fit great and feel super resilient, I'm sure I'll have them for many years to come

Horrible jean, does that meet your guidelines?

Loving this denim!
There should be a size 35 - really big difference between the 34's and the 36's. I could lose some pounds, so hopefully they fit better in a month. Denim looks good, masculine. Value for money seems decent. Comfort is fine. The amount of detail is about right: the selvedge on the coin pocket looks a tad silly on an otherwise no-frills (in terms of extra details) pair of denim. I would buy them again, and would not hesitate to recommend them. If you're wondering if a pair of jeans could be worth $150, they are. If you're on the fence, buy them. Alt, if you want stretchy pants these are not for you.

Great denim, great fit.
Great quality denim, fit was perfect. Stuff and starchy, a quick soak will soften them up but I enjoyed the break in process without soaking.

Looked great, didn't feel as good as I'd have liked.
These seemed to fit right but they were very ridgid. Maybe it's because I have never worn raw denim before but they weren't comfortable wearing for more than an hour or two.

To short
I order the midrise Weird guy the inseam are 33 not 35.5", and if you gonna order ones order one size dow I'm 34 and there lose from the weist

Five Stars
Good pair of well-made raw denim jeans. They fit as expected. However, you'll have to get the length hemmed.

This review is for the Stretch Selvedge. As far as sizing is concerned, if you have larger thighs, I would recommend getting your regular size as opposed to sizing down. The spandex really does make a difference, and it does stretch pretty comfortably while in motion. It was however very stiff in the beginning and very tight around my thighs; had I sized down, my legs would have probably looked like sausages. As with all N&F denim, it's well-made, comfortable and looks/feels very nice. They're wearing extremely well, and waffling creases on the back of the knee look really good.

Fit, although very personal, was near perfect. The jean definitely has the selvedge crispness; yet when you put on this pair of sanforized weird guys, the Japanese denim feels surprisingly comfortable against the skin. And they feel pretty light too - i think the denim is 13oz? We're all set to fade.

I’ve had a few of these jeans for 5-6 years and keep coming back for more. If you take care of them properly and limit machine drying they’ll last for years! Definitely a bit more expensive than other jeans but they are far more durable if used appropriately.

A lot of people talk about sizing down and that these jeans will stretch but I disagree. I went true to size or even upsize for my experience as these will shrink after washing. I’m personally looking for a slightly more relaxed, but still slim-ish and tapered. If you are actually skinny then consider getting the skinny or super guy but if you’re average size (and long over skinny jeans like me) these give you more room in the top box to breathe. I’m exactly average height at 5’10” and I take them in to get hemmed by about 2” and I still have plenty left to cuff to show off that sweet selvedge. Love the stiff, raw denim feel, high quality and that these are made in Montreal, Canada.
