C# Coders know this is the best out there
I buy this book each time there is a new version of C#. I always donate the old book to my town library. It is the most complete book and reference on the C# language. Without this, one is not a C# coder. I do not work for the authors or the publisher; just like good quality products and books. There is no way not to buy this, if you want to know everything about C# in one place. Get it, save time, and move on to (better) coding.

Doubles as a weapon to protect against home invasion
This book is incredibly thorough and feels like a brick.Sadly mine came a little bit creasedCovers everything you could possible think of about c#

Don't buy this for .NET Framework development with C#
This version of this book, while still comprehensive for C# itself, has a lot of information related to use with .NET Framework removed. It is now written almost entirely for .NET 5 - while .NET 6, the next LTS release, is imminent. Either buy an older version of the book, or wait for one updated for .NET 6.

Paper format is crap.
About content, i am happy it.I dont like this book format, is too small and is really hard to use. This book is printed in Black and White, it is useless when reading graphs. The typography is really small, and it does not read well. The relationship quality-price is low.I

Reads like the Moby Dick chapter where the author talks about whales
This book is not for someone who wants to learn C sharp. It is for someone who already knows the language in depth. It has no educational value as it does not really explain concepts, it just lists them.

Excellent: Now I want C# 10 Version
I really like these C# Nutshell books. I've had several over the years, all the recent (7/8/9) versions have been excellent, and with Microsoft making a lot of changes they are great reference books. As to "not a good book to learn" reviews - true but that's true for PHP, Java and other languages. The Nutshell series explain the syntax for people who are somewhat familiar but haven't seen the latest version - or especially for C# - have experience and know from reading articles online that there is something like xxx but haven't used it and aren't sure exactly how it works. That's where these books shine. I have yet to use nullable reference types only because I've been busy on some Java code at work but once I get back in C# I'll have to look up the new stuff.I have found the books to be well written and very useful. But it's like a SQL reference guide for a major database (MS, Oracle or one of the My SQL derivatives) - you know there is a function to (think of dates or something) but don't know the parameter order - if it was C# this is the book you'd reach for. But learning C# or SQL, never. That's not the audience. If you are coming from, say, Java, this book could be very useful because you are familiar with many similar, but implemented differently, constructs and need to know "how do they do that in C#?" Likewise LINQ, which is in no other language I know of (beans and Hibernate and such have nothing similar, let alone PHP) - so this can be a good reference, but overwhelming at first (try the MS docs for the basics, then come here for the details).Recommended. Very much. Now for C# 10 and all those changes. I've been following Hanselman but I hope the author brings out a book for version 10, due out 5-6 weeks from when I write this. I pre-ordered C# 9 in a nutshell that early, I wish I could do the same for 10 so this wish is not out of line.
