Not a primer in the classic sense
Worked great for my project. I think some of the bad reviews are from people that thought this was a normal primer. Itโs not. Itโs meant just to prep the surface so that any loose paint gets sealed up and doesnโt come loose. Did exactly as I expected, worked great.

Great stuff to have in your armoury
I've used this before when I was trying to paper a wall. I lifted the paper to position and parts of the original builders paint started peeling off where they had not printed drywall compound underneath. I stripped what I could and used this to seal down the edges. Worked a treat On this more recent project I was painting a whole house which had had many paint jobs over the years. Most was ok, but we'd suddenly get parts when the paint peeled off during prep. This worked to get those stuck down. I actually brought it where sections of popcorn needed repair (complete removal not wanted). Used a craft knife to cut back until the popcorn was better fixed. Then applied peel stop. I'd intended to then use a popcorn repair product and did do this at first on one section. I'm pretty confident the Peel Stop was helping there. We ended up having new popcorn sprayed on the repair areas. In one area this was fine e before we'd applied the Peel Stop and the new popcorn was cracking afterwards. Well worth having around to solve problems where a coating comes off partially and then the rest is difficult to remove (which always seems to be the case).

Nice base coat.
I used this on my deck outside. Dries really fast so can put on the next coat. Covers and helps fill in but donโt like the color when it dries.

Works like its description
This does the job and helps prevent peeling paints from peeling more

poor coverage
I purchased this to prime a metal door. It does not cover. It goes on very thin, which didn't make a good base for the paint. Maybe on wood this would be a good product but not on metal

Great for fixing moldy paint cracked bathroom ceiling.
Had some paint flaking and the beginnings of mold on a bathroom ceiling and this product was recommended. Itโs been up for over and year and Iโve had no issues at all. Iโm definitely a DIY person and this job was easy to do. After sanding and scraping all the old paint off the ceiling I wiped all the dust down and gave a good solid coat of this. It dries clear and has a hard plastic feel like paint so I could tell it was durable. Primer and then paint and the ceiling will hopefully last another 30 years. Would recommend to anyone dealing with the classic bathroom ceiling issues. Also, reminding my kids to use fan while showering will likely help a lot too.

Perfect
After reading reviews, I was a little worried. I watched a couple of videos and went to work. This product is amazing! Totally easy to apply. Is it thin? Yes! And it is supposed to be!!! Went on like a dream and dried quickly. I put on 3 coats cuz I didn't want to do it over. It is absolutely perfect for my peeling ceilings!!! Didnt smell bad at all. Looks great. Easy coverage that you can see. Highly recommend!!

I recommend this Zinsser sealer.
I found this product to be amazing. After trying twice to sand and seal a peeling bathroom ceiling (with other sealers) only to have it fail both times, I ordered this product and it has worked. I once again scraped/sanded the whole ceiling and gave it two coats of this Zinsser product and painted with ceiling paint. If this hadn't worked, I was going to replace the actual ceiling plaster board. I understand other reviewers concerns regarding the colour but this is only a sealer - not a paint. It is a very watery white colour and you will need to paint with your final paint colour. I cannot praise this product enough.

Does the trick
I had alot of peeling paint, after removing the easily removable stuff. I did two coats and it was also just thick enough that it wasn't noticeable where paint levels were lower. It is a little expensive but it will save you alot of prep having to sand everything back. Would recommend this product.
