Pure and potent sandalwood powder that can be used for puja or skin care.
I buy on regular basis Nag Champa incense brand. I was not aware that Govinda company also offers fresh sandalwood on Amazon. As soon as I saw it, I placed an order for it immediately. I absolutely love the scent of fresh sandalwood and that was the key - getting a fresh sandalwood powder that is authentic and still not too expensive. I a must say I am very pleased with my purchase. This sandalwood is very potent and the aroma is divine. inside of the box is generous amount of powder that will last for a really long time. I love to apply sandalwood mask with rose water on my skin as a mask because of it cooling properties. It also gives skin an amazing glow. many people use it for puja, but I must say I am limiting use of exotic spices to skin care products.Sandalwood is particularly great for use on acne prone skin, but any skin type will love this majestic aroma. I am not interested in finding any recipes that can be applied to make sandalwood based deodorant.

I like it. I make my incense
From the reviews, and my own experience, my theory is that this is NOT sandalwood powder, this IS sandalwood INCENSE powder. Of course, I may be mistaken, and this is the real deal. Regardless, I like it. I make my incense, this fits fits perfectly for my needs. NOTE: The aroma is pungent, and long lasting. Like getting kicked in the nose. I put the powder in a Ball jar with label. Close tightly. Burns great, exactly like the incense does. Only, without the stick. Looks like loose sandalwood incense. Smells like sandalwood incense. Burns like sandalwood incense. QUOTE: "The highest quality sandalwood is grown in India and is becoming nearly extinct because of the high demand from the perfume industry as well as the limitations put in harvesting it, because it is becoming extinct. There are other types of sandalwood in New Caledonia, Ceylon, Indonesia and Australia, but they have harsher smells."

Beautiful smell.
Loved the smell as soon as I smelt it from the outside. My grandmother used sandalwood powder or chandan as we call it in India for her daily prayers. Have been fond of the fragrance as a little kid. Excellent for the skin, acne, blemishes and other skin problems. Good quantity because very little of it is used either as a face pack, hair pack or for religious purposes. Value for the price. Chandan or sandalwood powder is not be eaten or taken internally in to the body. Externally it works wonders for the skin. Good quality at an affordable price. There is nothing I dislike about this product.

Not real, but it still works
Bought this sometine ago, updating my review. This isn't real sandalwood powder, but being that the actual trees are endangered, it's a fine alternative. Plus it actually smells pretty nice when burned. Its slot better than some of the premade incense cones and sticks.

Not sure what this actually is
I read the reviews, was ready for a strong soap or musky scent, but this was the unscented sandlewood, I guess. Wasn’t expecting a lot, but got nothing at all. Tried utilizing many different ways(there is a lot of it!), but nothing. I meant zero scent, not burned, boiled, heated in oil, added inside a clean sock and put in the dryer, but nothing. Except stains, but expected that. Threw it away..Where? You’ll never know, not by smell..

Smells clean and packs well.
Sandalwood is interesting because of how much it can vary between different products. This one smells very clean when not burning, and smells like a classic Sandalwood incense when burning.

Ok, but not real scent
Although the product smells very nice, it's NOT the same lovely scent as the real sandalwood smell. I used it in a facemask and so far it's been a good experience.-On the side note- I associate the smell of this 'sandalwood' as having a manly scent, but usually find REAL sandalwood as just earthy and no 'manly' smell... this could be just my opinion though.
