Norma (Bonynge, Sutherland)

Norma is one of those operas for which one tries to find a perfect version - and, of course, there is no such thing. However, this one comes so close to perfection it gets 5* rating even though it has no libretto or, indeed, booklet of any sort; but that is reflected in the price. The joy of hearing Sutherland and Horne is incomparable.

We all know it is fantastic recording but I was disappointed with the sound levels being very low when I played it through my car stereo. I had to turn the volume up to max and still not satisfied.Still the voices are amazing. I particularly love Hornes voice.
