With limited mobility, "traditional" cooking has become more difficult for me, so I use the microwave more often. It's great for steaming veggies IF you have the right pots/etc. This steamer is perfect for preparing 2 servings of steamed veggies. I've used it so far for potatoes (I use small "baby" [creamer] potatoes, cut into quarters, steamed on full power for 8 minutes), brussels sprouts, broccoli, carrots (sliced about 1/8"-1/4" thick), and mixed frozen veggies. Perfect results every time. Just fill the red pot with enough water to just "touch" the white basket, then load the white basket with whatever veggies you want. Highly recommended.

I have to say I love this thing cooks frozen vegetables in 6 -7 min depending how you like them , fesh vegetables 5 - 6 again how you like . I like some crispness in my veggies 😋

This is a great little steamer for 1-2 people, whether it be vegetables or dumplings.

In the basket itself is (obviously) smaller than the total volume. We use it to steam fruits and veggies for a baby. For more than one adult, I don't think it would be big enough. Photos attached with common household items for scale. Works well!

I should have paid more attention to the dimensions of this item which clearly says 6" x 6" ( and thats the outside bucket). The steaming tray is so tiny i couldn't fit a whole cut up broccoli crown in the basket, I had to do 2 batches. But it worked great and the broccoli cooked in 2 minutes so the first batch didnt even get cold by the time the 2nd batch was done.But this would be perfect for 1 person meals! If you need more than 1 serving find a bigger one.
