Typical Rockport quality, value, comfort, and style
Full disclosure, I'm a huge Rockport fan. I've bought their shoes and boots for years because they've always fit me well and they make a really comfortable shoe at a decent price that has always held up pretty well for me. To begin, I bought the "Tan" color and these are anything but tan. These are a dark chocolate brown in a flat finish nubuck leather with a brown / grey synthetic sole. But they look exactly like the photo in the product listing and that's what I wanted so I don't really care what Rockport calls the color. These are also made with Rockport's proprietary "Hydro Shield" design which makes them waterproof and that was important to me because I live in New England. Fall is wet and winters come with snow, slush, ice, and salt. So having a reasonably fashionable Chukka boot that can handle the weather is just practical. I've owned another pair of Rockport Hydro Shield Chukka boots for about three years and they have worked fine for me. Are these a high end fashion boot with stitched leather soles? No! But they look pretty good and the lugged rubber soles will do better in mud and slush than a flat leather sole. Also the waterproof uppers will survive a lot better than dress shoe leather while being much easier to keep looking good. And finally, these are 1/3 to 1/4 the price of a delicate high end fashion boot. That made the decision a lot easier. Also, the Rockport partnership with Adidas has produced a dress boot with near running shoe comfort. These are incredibly comfortable right out of the box. I wear a size 11 D (medium) width. That's what I ordered and they fit me perfectly. A fashion boot is not going to have this level of comfort. Also it's really hard to find a nice looking men's ankle height boot that doesn't have a zipper on the side. I guess I'm old fashioned but those seem like fake boots to me and something a poseur would wear. I want a men's boot styled like a men's boot right down to a functional lacing system not some zipper closure destined to fail or leak water. I bought these boots to go with a new dark brown distressed leather jacket and leather flat cap for fall and winter and I couldn't be happier with my choice. Rockport wins again.

If they last, these will be my new favorite boot.
These boots are incredibly comfortable. The break in period only took about 2 days, but they were still comfortable the first day I tried them on. I've had other boots including DrMartens and I prefer these Rockports. With that being said, some could worry that such a comfortable boot may not last. I can't speak to their longevity as I've only had them for 4 months, but so far, I haven't experienced any premature wear on these. I do worry about the soles wearing down too quickly based on other reviews. I don't wear these everyday, but at least twice a week, including walking on a hard concrete floor all day at my job. I've taken these boots on hikes, worked in a woodshop, and trekked through the snow. I'm very pleased with these boots and sincerely hope they last. I am expecting to get at least 3 years out of these considering the $109 price tag. A few notable features I like about this boot. 1. They are incredibly lightweight. 2. (Removable) Cushioned soles provide better support and comfort than most other boots I've tried. 3. The padded ankle opening/ tongue. Both the ankle and tongue have a little bit of padding. Not too much, but enough to avoid flimsy support around the ankle/ front of shin. 4. Waterproofing. Unless water goes above the opening of the shoe, your feet are going to stay dry. The tongue has waterproof material attaching it to the boot so there is no entry for water. 5. Style. These boots are sharp, classy, but also rugged. I've had many compliments on them and they go well with my Levi's. They seem to be aging well, only looking better with a few scuffs here and there that add to their character. As far as sizing, I normally wear 11.5 in Vans, usually a 12 in Nike, so I purchased a size 11 in these boots and they fit perfectly.

This is a solid boot
Having now worn this boot for a few weeks, this is a solid, good-looking boot. The length was as advertised (I generally wear a 10.5), but I find myself wearing a thicker sock with this boot for longer periods of time, as the interior is a bit "roomier" than I expected (the reason I selected "somewhat large" under "how does this product fit"). I can stand/walk for hours and not experience any significant discomfort, and although I've had some challenges with specific boots rubbing or chafing around my ankles, the Rockport fits great in that area and I have had no issues. This boot looks great with jeans, I feel equally comfortable wearing jeans and a t-shirt or nicer jeans and a button-down with these boots. If you're looking for a solid, comfortable boot that gives you some flexibility to dress up or down, I recommend this Rockport.

good boots
I usually wear a 12 wide. I purchased these shoes in an 11.5 wide and the fit is very nice. There is plenty of toe room and my feet don't feel cramped even with thick socks, nor does the boot slip around on my foot. These boots have a great "wear like shoes" quality and are not clunky or too heavy. I wanted a boot that would comfortable for all day wear (light and walkable) but weatherproof and these fit the bill well. I've worn them on snowy days, rainy days and walked through dirt and mud--my feet have stayed nice and dry. A downside is that these shoes do not do much to keep your feet warm. With thick wool socks, this is not a problem. I don't see myself wearing them outside of the late fall/winter/early spring, so hopefully these boots will last several years. They look nice with jeans and even khakis and are comfortable enough to wear all day. Just make sure to order a half to full size down--they do run a bit large.

It’s fine - Edit : DO NOT BUY THESE, caused feet to cut, rash, and bleed.
Edit : after reading this still read the below review because that still applies but after a few more months of wearing them the tongue has started to fray and the edges have because so sharp it is cutting the top of my feet as I work. I come home with blood all over my foot from where this shoe is cutting me. DO NOT BUY THIS SHOE. I would post pictures of the cuts but I feel as that would be some sorta of violation of something and no one wants to see that. - It does what you want boots to do. I wear there to work every day, and they are fine. I replaced the soles because the ones that come with them aren’t great, and some how every time it rains my socks get just wet enough to annoy me but not too wet to be a problem. I would have to say my worse problem is the laces. They laces broke with in the first week, I bought some nice laces and replaced it. You cannot use these laces if you are working because one little mess up and the laces get pulled to hard they will break. In the end I wouldn’t recommend these for a working person. They look great and are sturdy but for 100$ you shouldn’t have to spend another 40$ on extra things just to make them comfortable and usable. If the price was 70ish then I wouldn’t care as much but I will not be buying these again once these are worn out.

Comfortable, goes with anything, lasted a few years for me!
I've owned two pairs of these boots. They're probably the footwear I wear most often. They're comfortable, waterproof, and they look good enough to wear with a lot of different outfits, from outdoorsy/hiking to casual/smart casual. The first pair I bought were the brown leather, then I got a black waterproof pair as well. I will say, I prefer the brown much more to the black, the leather is softer and feels more like an old baseball glove after wearing them for awhile. The black leather seems treated differently and it's a bit stiffer and less conforming to my feet. This isn't uncomfortable by any means, it's just a different experience. I should note that the brown leather pair did start to separate at the sole on one side after a couple years of regular use. I haven't been able to find anything suggesting Rockport will fix them or replace them, and I've even had them professionally repaired once, but they're still pretty much done for. I don't consider this a defect necessarily, I did wear them a ton, but something to note.

Light Azz
Finally tried Rockport boots in wide as over the years of trying other make of boot. These fit like a glove, also very comfortable and more importantly light azz. Now to find additional Rockies in black suede.

Rugged look & genuine leather.
These boots have a rugged, solid look, but the comfort really surprised me. The genuine leather feels high-quality, breaks in nicely, and the overall build is sturdy and well-made. Perfect for anyone who wants durability without sacrificing comfort. Very well made for rainy weather conditions.
