Is the visibility really only 6 meters?

It's quite a bright light, but it's not focused, like a typical flashlight. Better for being seen in the dark than for helping you see. I'd say 6 meters is pretty accurate for how far it illuminates, but it's visible from much further away.

What deep can resist?

Package says 1 meter for 30 minutes

Would this work well to clip to my dog so I can see him (and cars can see him) in the dark?

It should clip to a dog collar just fine. The caribeaner is a mini measure 1 1/2 inches from outside bottom to top, and the gate opening is about 5/8 inches. It clips to the molle strap on my pack with no trouble at all. The light is well worth the money, its durable and bright.

Does it turn on automatically when submersed?

Not that i know of. You need to twist the head on in order to turn it on.
