The hold button is great for when you have to reach into a corner and the pen is out of site.

The FLIR MR40 helps me find leaks and moisture intrusion in motorhomes and RVs that I inspect. It has already helped me save one client a boat-load of money and helped me give others a warm fuzzy feeling about the moisture integrity of their coaches. I Identify suspect areas with a FLIR ONE Pro Thermal Imaging Camera for iOS . Then I use a pinless moisture meter, to verify if what I'm seeing is moisture or other just something in the wall/floor that is cooler than the rest of the wall/floor. If I sense moisture with the pinless moisture meter, I use the FLIR MR40 pin-type meter to absolutely verify the quantity of moisture that is present and where it' is centered. Each product has it's purpose and works best, only in combination with the others. By the time I get to the point where I am using this meter, I'm already pretty sure that there is moisture present, where it should not be. This meter just verifies my assumptions and helps me center the source of the moisture incursion. It's a reasonably priced tool, that fits in my pocket and is reasonably accurate. FYI, for what I do, I don't need accuracy to 10 decimal points. But for the price, this meter provides consistent readings that are more than accurate enough to provide my clients with confirmation of the condition of the coach they are about to buy.
