There is no heel. The boots are flat-soled.

Hello Chris. I know what you mean. I find it's important to make full use of the tab at the back of the boot to stretch it back over the heel. For me the boots are a good standby for really difficult weather - snow, slush, very muddy conditions etc. I haven't actually used them very much but it's good to know they're there.
